    Our requirements are minimal:

    - A cleared and swept open performing space,20 by 30 feet minimum, with a verticalclearance of at least 12 feet (usually the gym!);

    - Two conventional outlets for our electronicequipment;

    - A room adjacent to the performance space where

    performers can change;

    - A tuned acoustic piano; *

    * Opera Lyra Ottawas strong preference is for anacoustic piano that has been tuned no more thantwo weeks before the show; however, should yoube unable to provide a tuned piano, we will make

    arrangements to bring an electric piano.

    Hansel & Gretel

    A family favourite, Hansel and Gretel tells thestory of a poor brother and sister who are sentout to nd food in the forest.

    By the end of the day they nd themselves lostand are forced to spend the night deep in thewoods. The next morning, their tummys rumbling

    with hunger, the children see a gingerbread houseand start lling their bellies with sugary treats.

    The Witch, who lives in the house, captures thechildren. She casts a spell over Hansel and startsto fatten him up so she can eat him. Gretel out-wits the Witch and releases Hansel from the spell.Together they trick the Witch into looking into theoven. When she does, they quickly push her in-side. The oven explodes and all the gingerbreadchildren are free!
