Day one, you'll spend on Manchester's campus, where you'll explore the Eel River ecosystem, examine the mysteries of chemistry, and learn how human bodies funcon. On days two and three, you'll visit the Koinonia Biological Field Staon, 12 miles north of Manchester University. There, you're explore the sport and science of fishing in Lake Larrew with a fisheries biologist, and learn about rocketry, aerospace and engineering through designing, building and launching bole rockets. You'll learn, too, about birds and how they're captured and banded for scienfic research. And you'll study with a botanist about common plants of the forest and how they can be used for medicinal purposes or food. Dr. Judd Case will teach you the rules, taccs, and strategies of one of the world's oldest, most revered games. He uses the U.S. Chess Federaon's official Think Like a King program for youth, and emphasizes acve, hands-on learning and good sportsmanship. By the end of camp, you'll have sharpened your chess skills and parcipated in a real chess tournament. Who knows? You might even take home your first chess trophy! Parcipants will receive t-shirts and snacks will be provided. Grades 3-6 | 9 a.m. - Noon Manchester University Science Center Trophies awarded to both boys and girls. In the LEGO® Robocs camp, you’ll build, program and test real-life robots that move using motors with rotaon sensors. You’ll brainstorm to find creave soluons, then develop them through selecng, building, tesng and evaluang. In computer labs, you’ll capture the robot data, analyze and manipulate the robot. a�orneys' fees and costs) which may arise out of my child's par�cipa�on in any ac�vi�es (including travel)
