The annual technical fest of NARULA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, KRITANJ held
on 28th and 30th of March, 2015 proved to be a massive success. Compared to other
years the footfall hiked in about ten times. The events ranged from CODING and
ROBOTICS to GAMING and ONLINE events. The Robotics events included ROBO
RANGER, ROBO WAR and LINE FOLLOWER. The online events comprised of
CIPHER, SELFIE and MAKE A POSTER. Among others, civil events like CADDIST,
BRIDGE-TRIX and CONCREATE made its way. Gaming found lot of participants
courtesy NFS MOST WANTED, CS 1.6 and FIFA 11. An aptitude test, ACE THE PACE
was also conducted. MOZILLA conducted an app day where the participants exhibited
their technical skills on display to develop apps. Paint Ball also made its way to the list
of events being held.
Science and technology club inculcates the budding talents in the college premises via
various discussions, projects and participation in various exhibits and competitions.
Other than creating platform for developing instrumentation based projects and robotics,
it also promotes science in everyday life.
Students of MCA participated in the following event under science
and technology club.
MCA student exhibit his prototype model “Autobot” i n Birla Industrial &
Technological Museum (Govt. of India)
Final year MCA student Mr.
Saikat Patra developed an
autonomous robot named
“Autobot” using Induino R3
board. Autobot can detect
any obstacle in its 360
degree movement path and
find its alternative way
without hitting the object.
Autobot can move in a
predefined programmed
path and it can detect an obstacle from 400 cm distance using ultrasonic sensor which
works above 18 khz frequency range. It can be used as unmanned mobile carrier in
industrial application with much cheaper rate than conventional Unmanned Aerial
Vehicle (UAV). Saikat is working under the supervision of Prof. Sanjay Goswami and
his model is exhibited in Birla Industrial and Technological Museum.
