When: June 11-14 and June 18-21, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Who: Young women entering 9th and 10th grades in Fall 2012*
Cost: FREEAbout the outreach innovation:This event encourages upcoming 9th and 10th grade young women to explore interesting courses that prepare for careers in the exciting “STEM” fields of science, mathematics, engineering and technology.Students will participate in career development exercises and hands-on STEM activities as they interact with professionals in thefields. Information on the Associate in Science in Engineering Technology Program at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota(SCF) will be presented.This event is free and limited to the first 12 applicants (upcoming 9th and 10th grade young women). *Interested students shouldhave a grade B or higher in mathematics and science courses and be interested in pursuing a “STEM” related degree at SCF.Personal interviews are mandatory and will be conducted at North Sarasota Library, 2801 Newtown Blvd., Sarasota, onTuesday, May 8, and Thursday, May 10, from 4-7 p.m. Information about the interviews will be sent via text and email.
