The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Oregon (chemistry.uoregon.edu) invites applications for a tenure-track Biochemistry faculty member at the Assistant Professor level to be-gin in Fall 2018 or later. Biochemistry research at the University of Oregon takes place in the context of the Institute of Molecular Biology (molbio.uoregon.edu), which promotes interdisciplinary interactions between life science researchers in the departments of Chemis-try and Biochemistry, Biology and Physics. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in-vites applications for a tenure-related position in exper-imental physical chemistry to begin Fall 2018 or later at the anticipated rank of Assistant Professor. A PhD is required and postdoctoral experience is preferred.
We seek individuals studying problems of funda-mental importance to experimental physical chemistry, which may also be applied uniquely to advance related chemical disciplines. We are especially interested in scholars who will enhance the departmentís existing strengths in biophysical chemistry, materials related physical chemistry, spectroscopy, statistical mechanics and quantum chemistry. The potential for establishing a vigorous independent research program in experi-mental physical chemistry and active participation and excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and grad-uate levels will be the most important criteria for selec-tion.
