Apple

Why it became brown??

Search and search

Apple contain high amount of iron.Oxidation :when iron reacts with oxygen in

air it turns its colour .Also apple contain fibers but it has

nothing to do with the change in colour .Apples of different colours do the same

change in colour.

When the apple is exposed to air its color changes as oxygen in air reacts with the iron it has and this is called oxidation.

What do u think I can do?

?

Cover them with different liquids?

Prediction

Acids can protect the apples from changing its colour.

Examples for acids :lemon and vinegar.Examples for bases : milk of magnesia

and soda.

Different in colors

1 day.

Results

The apples in lemon only are the ones who did not change in color ,even the ones in vinegar changes it’s color.

So ,it has nothing to do with acid and may be there is another thing in lemon which protects the apple

Right or wrong?

My prediction in wrong .So I have to repeat it until I reach the

right result.

Observation & I asked a question to identify the problem to solve

Research

Collect all the data and information that may help to solve the problem.

Examples for acids :lemon and vinegar.Examples for bases : milk of magnesia

and soda.(Which is a prediction which can be

tested).
