Quantix has partnered with Signify to offer all customers two-factor authentication (2FA) in its cloud environment.

By delivering Signify's hosted 2FA service as standard, Quantix will be able to add extra security to the Signify-provided managed services for its customers. According to the companies, control and management of the Signify service is made simple by its web-based interface that integrates with the Quantix management portal. Customers are able to set up users, apply their own security policy, add or remove users and provision new or replacement tokens.

Andrew Slater, director of cloud services at Quantix, said: “Security fears really are the last stumbling block for many organisations keen to move to a cloud-based infrastructure. Best of breed security controls such as firewall, VPN, intrusion prevention, access control and anti-virus have always been a mandatory part of our highly secure cloud environment; but we see 2FA as a vital further step.

“By using the tried and trusted Signify service we are able to offer our customers secure, flexible and highly reliable 2FA that is easy to deploy and manage. Signify not only integrates with standard offerings such as ExchangeCloud and Oracloud, but also offers burstable 2FA in an emergency situation which dovetails with our cloud disaster recovery service.”

Dave Abraham, CEO at Signify, said: “Authentication does seem to often be a security blind spot when it comes to accessing cloud-based data and applications, with often only a weak password required. We are delighted that Quantix has recognised this and is working with us to make the cloud more secure.”
