Screen less display is a present evolving technology in field of computer technologies.

Screen less display as the name suggest is a technology that aims at displaying or transmitting the information without any help of screen or projector.

Screen less displays has become a new rage of development for the next GEN-X.

Screen less display is mainly divided into 3 groups:

o Visual image

o Retinal direct

o Synaptic interface

Visual Image screen less display includes any screen less image that an eye can perceive.

In this case, light is reflected off some intermediate object (LCD panel, hologram, etc.) before it reaches the retina.

The most common example of visual screen less display is hologram.

Other examples include lcd panels, tablet computers and smart phones.

Holograms are used in telecommunication as an alternative to screens.

Holograms could be transmitted directly or they can be stored in various storage devices(such as holo discs).

The storage device can be hooked up with holo projector in order to access the stored image.

Visual retinal display systems are a class of screenless display in which images are projected directly onto the retina.

Once marked retinal display systems holds on the promise of high privacy as retinal display system sends light only to the pupils of marked person retina.

They are distinguished from visual image system because light is not reflected from some intermediate image onto the retina; it is instead projected directly into the retina.

Synaptic Interface screen less video does not use light at all.

Visual info directly bypasses the eyes and is transmitted directly to brain.

This system has yet to be implemented on humans.

But success has been achieved in sending video signals from electronic cameras into the brain of living horseshoe crab.

• There are several new technological developments for the working principle of screenless display.

• MUDOC software is used for the working of screenless display.

• In future years mudoc software could be installed in our computers, laptops and other kind of display devices and it would facilitate communication and interaction between computer and computer user.

• The working principle of screenless display involves :

• Creating visual catalog file with visual image:

• Visual image give you the ability to create files in eye file format for use in visual catalog program

• The eye file format creates catalogs of images in logical sub grouping.

• There is a FILE EXPORT PROJECT command that creates eye file that include all the image that are currently loaded into visual catalog program. When this command is selected you are prompted to enter a filename for the eye file that is to be created.

• The FILE EXPORT EDITOR command allows you to pack and choose those image that you want to include in catalog file and thus one can view those images which are included in catalog files using MUDOC software.

Development of mobile phones which are mainly used by old and blind people. This was first done in mobile phone named OWASYS 2CC.

Screen less display technology is used for development of screen less laptops. This type of laptops would be very portable and would be a green solution to landfills.

Widely used in the field of hologram projection.

Latest laser technology are also implementing the special technique of screen less display.

Low power requirement : only six diodes are required and a few of watts to deliver the image.

Higher resolution images : the pixels in the images projected by diodes can be made smaller so higher resolution can be achieved.

Great portability

Wider angle of view

More accurate color

Greater brightness and better contrast.

Ability to present 3d images.

For the future development of this emerging new technology, several researches are being conducted and several renowned it companies and best labs around the world are handling over the project of screen less display.

MICROSOFT in 2001 began the work on an idea for an interactive table that mixes both physical and virtual worlds.

Japanese scientists have invented the glasses that remembers where people last saw their keys, handbags, ipod, mobile phones.

Several laboratories are working on the electron beam lithography which includes advance enhancements of screen less display.

Screen less display promises the cost effective aspect and also brighter future in the computer application.
