Foundation Chair Ken reminded members of our year-end submission of contributions to the Rotary Foundation which will be submitted this week. Remember though you can still contribute on line to either the Annual Fund or Polio Plus and get your 2015 Tax deduction.

We are thankful for this day you have given us, for its blessings, its opportunities, and its challenges. May we appreciate and use each day that comes to us. We pray for strength and guidance for each day as it comes, fore each day’s duties, for each day’s problems. May we be challenged to give our best always, and may we be assured of your presence with us. Amen.

Gord’s Rotary Moment this morning provided him the opportunity to thank Sunrise members for the warm support he rand Roberta received prior to and following his recent surgery. Gord commented that while Sunrise Rotarians typically provide international and community service, another service that as members of a Rotary club we also provide, (and in his case receive) is the caring and support for one another that happens in times of crisis in our lives.

Ø Susan reported that the Christmas lights are up at Storybook Village. Ø A detractor though, some graffiti adorns a door; Arlene volunteered to

use a spray paint to touch it up.

Ø Gord distributed a sign up sheet for our Dec 22nd meeting which will happen at Gary’s Bistro on 2nd Avenue.

Ø Ken will be submitting member contributions to the Foundation later this week.

Ø Don reported that the WestJet contribution of a return trip for two to anywhere WestJet flies would be marketed as a raffle. 500 tickets will be printed and offered at $20/ticket.

2015 AGM

President Mike convened our AGM and requested members to: • Review and accept the 2014-15 Financial Reports – Duly Moved &

Passed • Approve the 2015-16 unaudited review of Club finances by Accountants

Williams/Norton/McIntosh– Duly Moved & Passed • Approve the 2015-16 unaudited review of Society finances by

Accountants Sabo Jang and Company – Duly Moved & Passed • Elect a President Elect Nominee • Elect a Board of Directors and officers for the 2016-17 Rotary Year

Past President Doug, Selection Committee Chair, announced that Gord Mebs was the Committees nominee and called for further nominations. No nominations were forthcoming from the floor and Gord was declared our President Elect Nominee for the 2017-18 Rotary year.

Gord will assume his position on July 1, 2017 and work with District 5020 Governor Nominee Tom Carroll.

President Elect Stuart submitted the names of members nominated by the Selection Committee to serve on the 2016-17 Sunrise Board and asked for nominations from the floor, none were forthcoming and the following members were elected:

President Mike ask for a motion of approval to establish signing officers for club and society accounts at the Coastal Community Credit Union effective July 1.2016. Bill Duckenfield, Stuart Jackson, Ken Walker, Gord Mebs and Steve Price Francis were duly appointed.
