OVERVIEW
Bottle testing is the preferred method being used by Oil Field Chemical Service providers for the recommendations of chemicals to be used for the particular oil-field. Bottle testing are commonly being carried for the chemical selections of a Demulsifier or Reverse Demulsifier to determine the chemicals that is most effective at breaking and separating emulsion into oil and water. Demulsifier selection was conducted according to the standard bottle test procedure by an experienced bottle tester.
HOW TO SELECT A DEMULSIFIER
Product screening chemicals was selected based on the crude oil characteristics. The screened chemicals are evaluated through visual observation prior to testing of the Demulsifier chemicals with different formulations. The formulated products are mixed with the crude oil sample and their performance are carefully evaluated for selection of the best chemical. Further evaluation of product dosages was carried out by varying the amount of chemicals injected into the crude scontrolled temperature, mixing time and centrifuge speed for the evaluation of the following :
