    ANNA NORDEN

    CALLICOON Anna Norden of Callicoon and Surfside, FL, a retired business woman and an educator, having taught at Narrowsburg Central School and Sullivan County Community College, died Wednesday, February 9, 2000, in Callicoon. She was 81.
    Daughter of the late William and Anna Coyle Quirk, she was born October 27, 1918, in Milford, CT. She was the widow of Arthur Norden.
    She received her bachelors and masters degrees from New York University. DuringWorld War II she served with the American Red Cross in India. She then became astewardess for Pan American Airlines on one of the first transatlantic flights.She and her husband co-founded Seaboard & Western Airlines in New York City.
    Survivors include four daughters, Mary Congelosi of Monticello, Anna Dolan ofOrange, CT, Helen Mullally of Jeffersonville and Margaret Gadzak of Westfield,NJ; three sons, Arthur and Thomas, both of Callicoon, and Andrew of Manlius; a sister, Helen Golden of Clearwater, FL; three brothers, William Quirk of Rumson,NJ, John Quirk of Kenoza Lake, and Raymond Quirk of Orangburg; 12 grandchildren;two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
    She was predeceased by a son, William, and a sister, Mary Cook.

    A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Georges Church in Jeffersonville. The Rev. Robert Nee officiated. Burial was in the Bauernfeind Cemetery in theBeechwoods, Callicoon.

    Ret. Educator, 81Anna T. Norden of Callicoon and Surfside,Fla., a retired businesswoman and an educator, died Wednesday, February 9, 2000,in Callicoon. She was 81 years of age.
    The daughter of the late William and Anna Coyle Quirk, she was born October 27,

    1918, in Milford, Conn. She was the widow of Arthur Norden.
    A graduate of Becker College in Worcester, Mass., she received her Bachelor's degree and Master's degree from New York University. During World War II, Mrs. Norden served with the American Red Cross in India. She then became a stewardess for Pan American Airlines on one of the first transatlantic flights. She and her husband co-founded Seaboard & Western Airlines in New York City. Mrs. Nordenthen became a theatrical manager for her children. She was a teacher at Miami-Dade Junior College, Sullivan County Community College and Narrowsburg Central School.
    She is survived by four daughters, Mary Congelosi of Monticello, Anna Dolan of Orange, Conn., Helen Mullally of Jeffersonville and Margaret Gadzak of Westfield,N.J.; three sons, Arthur Norden and Thomas Norden, both of Callicoon, and Andrew Norden of Manlius; a sister, Helen Golden of Clearwater, Fla.; three brothers,

    Friends may call at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville on Fridayfrom 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

    Burial will be made in the Bauernfeind Cemetery in the Beechwoods, Callicoon.
