October 3-5—Friday through Sunday, Women’s Retreat at Luther Point in Grantsburg, WI.
October 8, 15, 22, & 29—Thursdays, Women’s “The Patriarchs” Bible Study at 7:00 PM in the Worship Office w/ Laura Zook
October 11-12—Saturday and Sunday, Pastoral candidate Pastor Cody and Amber Kargus spend the weekend at Maranatha. Cody will preach at both worship services on Sunday with potluck at noon in the Fellowship Hall. Question and Answer with Cody in the sanctuary at 1:00 PM.
October 16—Thursday, All-church prayer time at 7:00 PM at Maranatha.
October 19—Sunday, Special Meeting in the Sanctuary following second service to vote on Pastoral Candidate Cody Kargus.
October 31—Friday, Family Fall Festival Event at Rice Lake Cedar Mall from 4-7 PM. Volunteers needed. Contact Heather Cox if interested in helping at [email protected]

Update
After many weeks of praying,
preparing for, and the
searching through many
resumes, the Lord,
through the Holy Spirit’s
leading, has lead us to
Pastor Cody Kargus.
Cody will be coming to
Maranatha to candidate
October 11th & 12th.
Presently Cody has served as
the Senior Pastor at
Crossway Church in Port
Orchard, WA for the past 3
years. Previous to his
present pastorate, Cody was the Camp Pastor at Arrowhead Bible Camp for 12
years, directing up to 16 ministries at the camp. Cody has a Bachelor of Arts in
Youth Ministries from Trinity College and a Master of Divinity in Missions &
Evangelism from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Cody is married to Amber
and they have four daughters ranging in ages from 3 to 14. Please welcome
Pastor Cody & Amber when you see them.
Cody will bring Sunday’s two morning worship messages at 8:45 and 10:30 AM
on Sunday, October 12th.
Please join us for a potluck following services at noon in the Fellowship Hall

From MOPS to Mom's Recess Due to a lack of leadership, the MOPS ministry at Maranatha has been discon-tinued. In its place, a new mom's ministry has been formed, called Mom's Re-cess, in order to continue ministering to moms in Barron County. Unlike MOPS, Mom's Recess is open to any mom, not just moms of preschool aged children. There are no membership fees, though some events or activities may
have costs associated with them. Mom's Recess has four committees that will each focus on a specific area for ministering to moms: recreation, education, creative arts, and spiritual. For our calendar, please visit our website or facebook page. All moms are welcome and encour-aged to join Mom's Recess, whether your children are 2 or 52!

Women’s Bible Study - “Chase” Need a night away from kids and spiritual refreshment?
Mom's Recess is starting an 8 week study beginning October 9
on Thursdays from 6:30-8:30pm (optional social time from 6pm-6:30pm).
We will be going through Jennie Allen's study "Chase". Study guide costs $9.

Praises: The Pastoral Search Team has announced that Cody Kargus and wife Amber will come for a candidating visit on Sunday, October 12th. A young man (Luke) has come to believing faith in Jesus Christ this past month.
