This section runsbetween Waterloo andPeckham town centreand covers Waterloo toPeckham and options inPeckham town centreand for a terminus.Between Waterloo to Peckham there are
two options.
In Peckham town centre there are
two options.
Between the town centre and the terminus
there are two options.
Waterloo to Peckham
Option 1 - orangeWaterloo to Peckhamvia Burgess Park
From Waterloo station the route goes south
along Waterloo Road via St Georges Circus
and London Road to Elephant & Castle.
The route continues along a short section of
Walworth Road before turning left into
Heygate Street. At the end of Heygate Street
and following Rodney Road, Flint Street and
Thurlow Street, to the Aylesbury Estate.
The route crosses Albany Road and enters
Burgess Park running around the raised part
of the park to Chandler Way, Commercial Way
and Kelly Avenue to Peckham Road.
Advantages
• Direct and quick route
• Interchanges with Elephant & Castle
Underground and National Rail stations

Option 2 - blueWaterloo to Peckhamvia Wells Way
From Waterloo station the route follows
the same route as option one to the
Aylesbury Estate. The route turns right to
run alongside Albany Road.
After 300 metres the route turns left into
Wells Way to cross Burgess Park. At the end
of Wells Way the route turns left onto
Southampton Way to Peckham Road.
Advantages
• Follows existing highway through
Burgess Park
• Serves Aylesbury Estate
• Interchanges with Elephant & Castle
Underground and National Rail stations
Disadvantages
• Less direct more route option
• Serves only portion of North
Peckham Estate
• Traffic using Wells Way and Southampton
Way would be moved onto parallel roads.
• Property purchase could be required to
deliver this option
• Reduction of developable land on North
Peckham Estate

Option 1 - redvia Jocelyn Street/Peckham Arch
From Peckham High Street the route turns
left onto Sumner Avenue and after into
Jocelyn Street, behind the Peckham Pulse
Fitness Centre.
The route turns right into Peckham Town
Square and through Peckham Arch.
The route crosses Peckham High Street and
behind the shops opposite Peckham Arch
and then on to the Bus Station.
Advantages
• Directly serves Peckham Town Square
and amenities
Disadvantages
• Peckham Square currently pedestrian only.
Tram introduction would impact on street
scene and its use
• Property purchase could be required to
deliver this option
Peckham Town Centre
Option 2 - greenvia Jocelyn Street/north ofPeckham Library
From Peckham High Street the route turns left
onto Sumner Avenue and into Jocelyn Street.
The route passes behind the Library and
crossing Peckham Hill Street through the
current site of the former library and current
Post Office. The route then crosses Peckham
High Street directly into the bus station.

• Minimises impact on current street scene,
including historic buildings in Peckham
High Street

bridge the route turns right to terminate
behind Rye Lane, between the railway line
and Bournemouth Road.

• Opportunity to use track to possible

Option 2 - pinkvia Cerise Road
From the bus station the route turns right
onto Hanover Park, then left into Cerise Road.
The route terminates near the current site of
the cinema, with access from Rye Lane.
Advantages
• Shortest route option between Peckham Rye
and the bus station
• Serves amenities such as cinema and
shopping centres
• Opportunity to integrate with potential
regeneration around the multi-storey
car park
Disadvantages
• Property purchase could be required to
deliver this option
