When he lived in the city he was a regular attendant at St James’ Church, where he held office as a sidesman for a long period. Since retiring from business he had lived at South Twerton, and had been a worshipper at the Church of the Ascension. Mr. Hand was a staunch Conservative, and an old member of the St. James’ Ward Committee.
