HELLO EVERYONE!!! I can’t believe it is May, already. I love Spring with all the plants in bloom. The staff and residents love our little oasis in the desert here at Pacifica Senior Living. It has been a busy year and now comes summer. With the hot weather it is imperative we offer water and other beverages to our residents throughout the day. To assure everyone is being offered something to drink the Activity Director visits the cottages in the morning and again in the afternoon with snacks and something to drink for all the residents. The snacks range from fresh fruit to popsicles, ice cream and a sweet treat here and there. The drinks may be lemonade, juice or water. The residents also receive drinks at meals and water is offered between these times. We would like to invite you all to attend our Lunch and Learn every month. Lunch is delicious and the subject is different each month. Please RSVP by the first of the month to Brook at 520-320-7505. I look forward to visiting with all of you please feel free to come by, my door is always open!
See you soon Dale Howard

The Daily 7
Daily outdoor activity is important for our residents as it has been shown to boost mood, help with depression and improve sleep. When the weather is nice during the spring, summer and early fall, we should move as many activities outside that we can. Who wouldn’t love ice cream and a sing-a-long on the patio? Moving exercise outdoors can also be a fun and welcome change for residents. Providing daily outdoor activities can be a challenge in some areas. When the weather is not cooperating, have some alternate activities available such as putt-putt golf, bowling or flower arranging. Having small indoor plants or having residents help with animal care can also be a good substitute for going outdoors. Holding activities near a window with natural light can help with depression and keep sleep/wake cycles in sync. Most outdoor activities can be modified for indoors.
