Reflection● To implement an effective PBIS program, administrators must:

○ Identify teacher leaders

○ Make data-driven decisions

○ Provide professional development

○ Communicate effectively (Kincaid et al., 2007)

Page 18: Seeing STARs: A Behavioral Intervention Resourceblogs.longwood.edu/.../files/2017/05/504-PBL-Presentation.pdf · Overview Establish a team of problem-solving professionals within

Identify team● Variety of backgrounds

● All stakeholders involved in a common purpose (Kouzes &

Posner, 2012)

○ Explained the purpose of the team at initial meeting

○ Members shared ideas for making the team successful

Professional Development● PBIS interventions

● Shared my experience with PBIS in the classroom

○ Showed support for initiative, modeled the way

○ No one will believe a leader is serious until they see that

person doing what they are asking others to do; leaders

must prove that something is important by doing it

themselves (Kouzes & Posner, 2012)
