2020 INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SELECTION EXAM

(SUYOS-2020)

PREFERENCE GUIDE

1. GENERAL INFORMATION, BASIC PRINCIPLES AND RULES

- This guide covers the processes and terms for preference procedures of students coming

from abroad to study at Selcuk University in the 2020-2021 academic year.

- Only Turkish is used as the language in the communication (e-mail, mail, fax, etc.)

between the SU Coordinatorship for Foreign Student Selection Examination and candidates.

- SUYOS Coordinatorship is not responsible for the incomplete and incorrect contact

information provided by the candidate during communication, and for the malfunctions

caused by delays and errors in communication tools (mail, internet).

- Results of the Foreign Student Selection Exam are only for students who want to study at

associate and undergraduate level. Transition (transfer procedures) of those who are

studying at a higher education institution to Selçuk University and the procedures of those

who want to study in Selcuk University graduate programs, are outside the activity-area of

SU Coordinatorship for Foreign Student Selection Exam.

- SU Coordinatorship for Foreign Student Selection Exam does not deal with the procedures

such as students' accommodation, scholarship, subsistence, and residence permit in Turkey

- The processes and provisions in this guide can be changed if required by the decisions of

the Higher Education Council. In this case, the path to be followed is determined by SU

Coordinatorship of Foreign Student Selection Exam. In cases not mentioned in this guide,

procedures are made according to the decisions of SU Coordinatorship of Foreign Student

Selection Exam.

The SUYOS-2020 preference guide will not be printed or distributed. The SUYOS-2020

preference guide can only be accessed online.

2. PREFERENCE APPLICATION CONDITIONS

Provided that the candidates are in the last year of their secondary education (high school) or

graduated, the applications of the following candidates will be accepted;

1) Foreign nationals,

2) Those who are Turkish citizens by birth but who have the permission to renounce Turkish

citizenship from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and who certify that their minor children who

are registered in the certificate of renunciation of Turkish citizenship have a document

regarding the Exercise of the Recognized Rights under the Turkish Citizenship Law, (Article

7 of the Turkish Citizenship Law No.5901 has the provision of "(1) A child born from a

Turkish citizen mother and father in a union of marriage inside or outside Turkey is Turkish

national.", candidates who will apply for admission quotas from abroad should examine the

Turkish Citizenship Law.)

3) Dual nationals who were foreign nationals by birth and later became Turkish citizens

4) a) Among the Turkish national students who continued their secondary education abroad

before 01/02/2013, those who completed the last three years of their secondary education

(high school) in a foreign country except TRNC, (including the ones who completed their

secondary education (high school) in Turkish schools opened by the Ministry of Education in

a foreign country except TRNC)

b) Among the candidates who started secondary education abroad after 01/02/2013, those

who completed their entire secondary education (high school) in a foreign country except

TRNC, (including those who completed their secondary education (high school) in Turkish

schools opened by the Ministry of Education in a foreign country except TRNC)

5) Those who are TRNC nationals, reside in the TRNC, have completed their secondary

education (high school) in the TRNC and have GCEAL exam results,

6) TRNC students who enrolled in colleges and high schools in other countries between

2005-2010 and have or will have GCE AL exam results,

The applications of the following candidates are not accepted;

1) those who are Turkish nationals and completed their entire secondary education (high

school) in Turkey or inTRNC,

2) those who are TRNC nationals, (except those who have completed their secondary

education (high school) in TRNC high schools and have GCE AL results and those who have

or will have GCE AL exam results by enrolling in colleges and high schools in other countries

between 2005-2010),

3) Dual nationals whose first nationality is Turkish by birth as defined in item 2 of paragraph

a, (except for those who meet the conditions in item 4 of paragraph a),

4) Those who have dual citizenship, one of which is TRNC (except those who completed

their secondary education (high school) in TRNC high schools and have GCE AL results and

those who have or will have GCE AL exam results by enrolling in colleges and high schools

in other countries between 2005-2010),

5) Those with Turkish citizenship or dual citizenships whose first citizenship is TR by birth as

defined in the item 2 of paragraph a, who receive education within the schools in the

embassies of Turkey and at foreign schools in Turkey

3. PREFERENCE APPLICATION DATES

4. PREFERENCE PROCEDURES

- Candidates will make their preferences online by clicking the link on our website.

- Candidates will be able to fill in the information requested at https://suyos.selcuk.edu.tr/ and

make their preferences.

- In the preference procedures, any application other than online application (mail, e-mail,

application to the institution) will not be accepted.

- Candidates must have taken the Selcuk University Foreign Student Selection Examination

in 2019 and received a standard score of 40 and above in order to make a preference with

their SUYOS score. Candidates who do not have a valid SUYOS-2019 score will be able

to apply with their diploma score. In placements, priority will be given to candidates with a

valid SUYOS-2019 score. After the placements made to the relevant quotas based on

SUYOS-2019 scores, the remaining quotas will be placed according to diploma scores.

There will be a country quota for placements.

- Candidates must enter all the information requested in their preference applications

completely and accurately. The preferences of candidates who have incomplete or incorrect

information will not be taken into consideration.

On the application screen, candidates are required to upload their officially approved

documents (Diploma) showing their graduation grade, translated into Turkish, into the

system. Graduated candidates are required to upload their diploma or officially approved

transcript showing the graduation grade into the system. Since the documents uploaded by

the candidates to the system will be requested for final registrations, these documents must

be kept. If the document submitted by the candidates in the system is not the same as the

document submitted in the final registration, the final registration right will be canceled. The

applications of candidates who have an unreadable or no graduation grade in the document

uploaded to the system will be considered invalid since they cannot be evaluated.

On the application screen, candidates will upload their headshot and biometric photos taken

within the last 6 months to the system. Applications of candidates who upload

photographs other than the required specifications will be deemed invalid.

In the preference system, candidates have the right to make 10 choices. Candidates should

make the order carefully, as their order of preference will be taken into account while

making their placement.

- Candidates are required to enter their information carefully, as there will be no right to

change the information after the choices are made and the application is completed.

- Candidates should take into account the duration of education, conditions and explanations

while making their choices. Conditions and explanations can be seen when the "i" icon on the

right of the relevant quota is clicked for the numbers specified in the section of conditions and

explanations about the preference.

The quotas determined for Selcuk University by the Higher Education Council (YOK) are

given in the Table. Candidates will be able to make their choices from the programs in the

Table. Applications for "" PROGRAMS ACCEPTING STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL ABILITY

EXAMS" in the table will be made in person on the dates announced by the related faculties.
