Eimear has acted as project architect for a number of new build and conservation projects in the practice of Paul Arnold Architects with clients in the domestic, community and commercial fields. Eimear has a particular interest in sustainable architecture and is responsible for in-house review of projects for sustainability measures and energy efficiency. A selection of representative projects which Eimear has worked on recently include: Royal Society of Antiquaries, 63 Merrion Square Client: Royal Society of Antiquaries Start: June 2005 Completion: On-going Value: 200,000 Position: Project Architect Acted as project architect for repair works which have been undertaken on a phased basis every year since 2005 resulting in stabilisation of the fabric and completion of external restoration. The historic reading rooms were also restored and redecorated while structural stabilisation of the rear bow-front was also undertaken. A New Entrance for Dublinia Client: The Medieval Trust Start: February 2009 Completion: May 2010 Value: 600,000 Position: Project Architect Acted as project architect for this small but complex project on a city centre site with restricted access. The timeframe on the build was short, a total of one year from appointment to completion on site and required planning permission, ar- chaeological licences and a fire certificate. The build itself required zero tolerance precision and co-ordination of two separate sub-contractors for off site prefabrication of the structure and the glazing. The main building remained open to the public for the duration of the works. The project was delivered under the new government contract, on time and on budget. Dublinia Seapoint Martello Tower, Dun Laoghaire Client: Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Start: April 2011 Completion: November 2011 Value: 60,000 Position: Project Architect Project architect (for construction phase) for repair of the repair and partial re-building of the 1940’s modernist swimming shelter and canopy to the north side at Seapoint Martello Tower which dates from circa 1805. Tailors’ Hall Feasibility Study Client: An Taisce Start: July 2009 Completion: September 2009 Value: N/A Position: Project Architect Preparation of concept proposals exploring potential development of the site surrounding Tailor’s Hall which historically contained a number of additional buildings with frontage on to Back Lane. The study also made proposals for the re-presentation of the hall as seen from High Street, the setting of which has been altered greatly by road-widening.

Magazine Fort Study Client: OPWStart: March 2008 Completion: October 2008 Value: €18m Position: Project ArchitectProject architect for a feasibility study to investigate the condition of this fort and consider ways in which it might be re-used. The fort dates from the 18th century and contains a complex of interesting buildings including the vaulted powder magazines and residential ranges. The scope of the feasibility study included a full measured survey, complete photo-graphic survey, detailed condition report, detailed structural report, historical report, statement of significance and com-parative study with similar building complexes in Ireland and Europe
