JAYANTI CELEBRATION
"Ahimsa is the highest duty.
Even if we cannot practice it in full,
we must try to understand its spirit and refrain
as far as possible from violence”
October 2 is an important day in the calendar as it marks the birth
anniversary of two legends of India who played a key role in India’s
independence. One was the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi and the
other was the second Prime Minister of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri .To
honour the legendary leaders, our young lads and lasses of classes VI to X
beautifully sketched their portraits and reiterated their maxims of life and
also sang a beautiful rendition of the soulful song 'Vaishnav Jan To Tehne
Kahiye' to commemorate Gandhi’s ideologies once again.

Our school organized an interaction of parents with our esteemed Principal,
Mr. Rakesh Upadhyay for classes Play Group to XII, with a goal to ensure a
positive atmosphere for learning as well as building up the healthy
relationship between parents, teachers and dear students. To bridge the gap
between an educator and parents, our noteworthy Principal took a positive
step in this direction. He talked about some crucial aspects like child’s
psychology, his aspirations, role of parents in shaping their ward’s future. He
also gave an overview about co-scholastic activities which not only are a vent
to the creative talents and energies of the children but also help in their all-
round development. He gave detailed information about the learning
parameters and stressed upon the innovative teaching and learning
methodologies followed in school. He also touched upon the salient features
of our ‘halls of ivy’ like Coding class, Burlington English Language Lab, Atal
Tinkering Lab, Blackboard Radio and ERP. The interaction ended on a good
note with an aim of growing our children into happy, skilful and creatively
well-adjusted citizens.

INTERNATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY
‘Why do people mourn
When a girl is born
She is an important part of society
And created by Almighty
So she is not a curse
But she is the vital part of our universe'
Girls face a lot of issues in their life. Starting from female infanticide to
gender inequality to sexual abuse, there is no dearth of issues. Thus to curb
these menace and to recognise girls' right and the unique challenges the girls
face around the world, International girl child day is observed and celebrated
every year on 11 October. The main objective of this day is to empower and help
them to get their rights so that they can face the challenges all over the world
and meet their needs. To make this day remarkable, our bubbly tutees of
classes VI to X expressed their emotions in different ways to create awareness
regarding girl child and also exhibited their firm belief in the aphorism 'A
daughter is one of the most beautiful gifts this world has to give'.

VIRTUAL MOVIE SHOW
Holistic development of students has always been a motto of Gyan Vihar.
During pandemic, our prestigious school has emerged as a pioneer to append
coding classes via Zoom from 12 October 2020 for the students of grades IV
to VIII in between their regular virtual classes as we believe that education
and technology go hand in hand. Computer science fosters creativity and
teaches students the critical thinking skills to become proactive learners, so
elementary school is the ideal time for students to be introduced to CS. Our
Six Computer Science Fundamentals courses are flexibly designed for
students who want to learn the basics of coding and where students will
create their own games, art, and digital stories that they can share - all while
developing problem-solving, collaboration, persistence, and computational
thinking skills. Every course includes "unplugged" activities that teach
computational thinking and digital citizenship skills. We seek your support in
enabling this new initiative.

Spic Macay
Chaplin made me laugh and cry
without saying a word.
I had an instinct.
I was touched by the soul of Chaplin - Mime is not an imitator but a creator.
A day without laughter is a day wasted. To communicate through silence is a link
between the thoughts of a man. In this Pandemic, our school always tries to
provide an ambience to the students where they do not only feel, cosy,
comfortable and entertained but also safe, snug, stress free and secure. In
collaboration with Spic Macay, our school organised an amusing and fascinating
virtual movie show and an interactive session on 15 October 2020 for the
students of classes .Our GVians became keen spectators of the movie' City Light'
by Charlie Chaplin. The students were thrilled to bits and understood the axiom
'Speech is silver but silence is golden' by looking at the world’s famous pantomime
and tongue-tied Chaplin.

Learning is a continuous and a lifelong process and it can happen anytime
and anywhere.
Our school is always on the forefront in terms of novelties to scale new
dimensions. Even during this current situation besides thinking about the
students, the school under the aegis of our scholarly and visionary
Principal, Mr. Rakesh Upadhyay is trying to give wings to the pedagogues
to scale dizzying heights in their career. For this, a Faculty Enrichment
Programme-English Weavers has been started from 16 October 2020. A
teacher’s discourse and oratorical skills are considered critical for
professional competence. It is an optimum level of language proficiency
which is sufficient to equip teachers with the necessary language
resources to be able to teach effectively through English. Bearing this in
mind, the Department of English is carrying forward the vision to
conduct such interactive sessions.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND ACCOLADES
A dream does not become reality through magic; it takes
sweat, determination, and hard work.
Gyan Vihar is on cloud nine with the stupendous and
astounding result of the students in various competitive
exams. They have made their alma mater proud by
ascending new heights in their career and left their
footprints of sweet success on the horizon.
We wish them good luck for their future endeavours.
DANDIYA & GARBA WORKSHOP
Feast and fun, the dandiaraas has begun.
May you be blessed with peace and love by Maa Durga from the heaven above.
The dance is a poem of which each movement is a word. Unprecedented times
require unprecedented measures to be euphoric, ebullient and exuberant .Our
school has made out a way to see a big curve on the faces of our dear
students by organizing a virtual Dandia and Garba workshop for classes VI to
X from 21 October to 22 October 2020, conducted by Simran Agarwal, an
eminent dancer from Nritya Shakti Studios, Mumbai. This workshop gave the
students' heart a flutter. They tapped their feet, showcased their dance
moves on the mesmerising tunes of songs and relished the workshop. All the
participants were awarded e-certificates and Preet Soni of class VI was
adjudged as the best dancer.
DOUBT CLEARING SESSIONS
Challenges won't die down, new challenges will keep coming up in everybody's
life. So do not make delays and follow the call of time.
Gyan Vihar firmly believes 'Challenges fuel our determination to win.' The nature
of challenges is to craft hurdles but at Gyan Vihar, our nature is to overcome
them. In the fierce pounce of COVID-19 pandemic, we have tackled it all by
running e-classes and win the blessings of the Almighty and have come out as a
winner each time. Testimony to this is our exemplary results .True that the
pandemic tossed and turned the life of student fraternity by making them home
stuck, disabling them to attend school. However, the days of normalcy are
gradually rolling out again. Every student of Gyan Vihar knows that there is no
comparison to classroom teaching and the students of classes X and XII are
coming to school for clearing their doubts, following the norms of social
distancing. These doubt clearing sessions are really fruitful to the students.
