WA Country Health Service currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Medical Practitioner to join our Mental Health team based at Bunbury Hospital in the South West Region. The successful applicant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing assessment and management of clients requiring specialist psychiatric management. You will provide relevant assessment and treatment to clients referred with psychiatric disorders. The successful applicant will work with clients across an integrated spectrum of acute care encompassing acute and community psychiatric care. You will work within a multidisciplinary setting and have a holistic, person centred, integrated model of care. You will also be rostered on after hours which includes all age groups. You will also participate along with another 6 Consultant Psychiatrists and another 6 Medical Officers in a weekly CME (Continuing Medical Education) programme, as part of professional development.

• Effective communication/interpersonal skills • Effective organisation and time management skills • Demonstrated experience and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team • Demonstrated experience supervising junior medical staff • Knowledge of the Western Australian Mental Health Act 1996 and other related legislation *Experience working in community and hospital based mental health services and experience working with clients from a variety of cultural/ethnic backgrounds is highly desirable.

Salary as per Department of Health Medical Practitioners (WA Country Health Service) AMA Industrial Agreement 2011: Full Time (80 hours per fortnight), Fixed Term

Senior Medical Practitioner 1-3 (Level 16-18) $246,203 - $260,854pa* *includes base salary $152,700 - $168,351, professional development allowance $25,162 and an allowance in lieu of private

practice $67,341.

In addition (in line with operational requirements), 9% employer contributed superannuation, access to salary packaging up to $17,000 pa, professional development opportunities and study leave/assistance, and flexible leave arrangements apply to this

position.
