VT:• All materials VT must have in their office by November 1st

• Students participating must be on the sign up sheet in the counseling office• Transcripts-Parchment, SAT/ACT Score reports- College Board or ACT, Application- Student completes• Cost of application: $60 (Can have MCPS pay for as 1 of their 2 free apps on College Application Day!)• Decision Letters brought to AHS on November 20th!

College Application Day

October 23rd, 2019

•AHS seniors expected to graduate in 2020 will receive assistance with applying for admission to at least one college or university. MCPS will pay for up to two (2) college application fees

•Students will report to the library during their Eng 12 class, if in the spring Ms. Sutherland will give a pass for the time to report.

•T-shirts on October 23

•Have application essays done, and ready to submit!!! This is not a time to try and write an essay—there is a lot going on!

TerminologyEarly Decision: plans are binding — a student who is accepted as an ED applicant must attend the college

Early Action: plans are nonbinding — students receive an early response to their application but do not have to commit to the college until the normal reply date

Early Acceptance: college admission plan in which students apply earlier in the year than usual and receive their results early as well

Binding: a student who is accepted as an ED applicant must attend the college

Non-Binding: students receive an early response to their application but do not have to commit to the college until the normal reply date
