Member’s Bounce!
We happened to go to the West Baden Springs Hotel in French Lick, Indiana in October, 2014. Whenever I see anything that has to do with the PGA, I take pictures of it to send to fellow blogger, and all-around great guy,
Rick Williams, PGA, http://mindbodygolf.wordpress.com
I had no idea how significant this display was until I came home and looked at the full—sized pictures. I sent the pictures to Rick in a blog post called “This One’s for You, Rick Williams”

Extreme close-up ofThe Alfred S. Bourne Trophy
The Alfred S. Bourne Trophy will be presented to the winner of the 2015 Senior PGA
Championship. Last year’s Senior PGA Champion, Colin
Montgomerie is hoping to defend his title and keep the trophy this year.
Yes, I did lie on the floor in the middle of the West Baden Hotel to get this photo.

There weren’t “lakes” here in October!
View of the hotel behind the sign, and the flooding along the road.
The hotel looked like it was surrounded by a moat
We were able to walk to the gazebo in October, 2014. In April 2015, we needed a gondola, but couldn’t find one.

Statue of Pete Dye in front of the
Pete Dye MansionApril 9, 2015
The quote on the plaque reads:“The ardent golfer would play Mount Everest if somebody would put a flagstick on top – golf
is not a fair game so why build a fair golf course”
Signed by Pete Dye
The platform behind the statue is one of several on the course built to showcase KitchenAid products,
and the latest Mercedes-Benz models, including the all-new 2016 GLE arriving in showrooms this
summer.

Welcometo the
Pete Dye Mansion
on Mount Airie,
one of the highest
elevations in Indiana.
s
The breathtaking view of the course from the parking lot at the Mansion.
Brenda and I were allowed access inside the Pete Dye Mansion! I tried to get to the Cupola Window, moving candlesticks, and taking books out of the bookshelf in an attempt to find the secret passageway, but no luck. I did get to the top floor of the mansion and took this picture.
By the way, you can stay here for $10,000 per night.
View from the side of the house. The back patio, on the right, offers views of miles and miles of Orange County, Indiana.
If I tried to play this course, they’d have to send a search party to find me!

Um, no thanks!
I only saw one cart of golfers that day. I really wanted to find out who they were.
