All plants grow right? But

what if you were to put

that plant in plastic? I

don’t mean inside a plas-

tic pot, rather, what if we

were to actually use plas-

tic instead of soil? Our

“plant” would be short-

lived. A plant needs soil

in order to have a chance

to live and grow.

The Bible, in talking about

our lives, uses language

like: rooted and

grounded. But in what?

(I’m glad you asked).

Rooted and grounded in

love. In love. See, many

of our lives seem to be

rooted in success or im-

portance where we draw

our sense of well being

from the job we hold, the

money we make or the

high view others may

have of us. If those

things become the source

of our well-being, then

what happens when they

are absent? What hap-

pens when the job ends,

the money dries up or

people begin to think

poorly of us? There has

to be something more

from which to draw our

strength. Scripture offers

LOVE. Now this is not
