Gather 8 or 10 friends and BOOK me to come do an Advanced Glamour, a Fountain of Youth class, or a Coke and Coffee career talk. I’m a former English teacher, no wonder I love the word BOOK. Seems like all I can think about is BOOKing this month? What leadership BOOK is by your nightstand or downloaded into your kindle? What BOOKing script do you have in your binder? How many spots have you highlighted in your dateBOOK that you want to fill with Mary Kay BOOKings? Do you always over BOOK? You know only ½ of those you BOOK, hold on the day they’re scheduled? How many BOOKings do you have by the 5 th of the new month if you want to do IT Factor? Is it 5 classes BOOKed? How many BOOKed by the 5 th if you want to do IT Factor Elite? Is it 10 classes BOOKed? What if you’re going for IT Girl? Do you need 15 classes BOOKed by the 5 th of the month? BOOKing seems to be part of the 4 basic precepts of this company: BOOK, coach, sell, recruit. And BOOK is the first one mentioned. Wonder why a consultant doesn’t BOOK? Is it because she doesn’t have a list of potential faces to BOOK? Is it because she’s afraid the person she calls will say no to her BOOKing request, and she’ll feel bad? OR, is it because she hasn’t realized that a Mary Kay BOOKing can earn her enough money to pay for her daughter’s dance lessons, her son’s basketball shoes, her mom’s cleaning lady, her husband’s fishing pole, or her NEW pair of jeans? Without the specific item you want to buy, without the exact amount of $$ needed, without a clear vision of you giving or presenting or buying that item, you aren’t going to BOOK. So, are you ready to figure out what Mary Kay could pay for by Christmas? That’s when the BOOKing will really begin! Knowing it’s true,
