painters field studies and the paintings they inspired. A unique display of original paintings created by 41 Minnesota art-ists. This exhibit provides a rare peek into the creative process that begins in the field, or plein air, where the artist works to quickly capture the fleeting light, shadow and atmosphere on canvas, board or paper. The artist must be prepared to tolerate any outdoor element, be it rain, snow, sleet, wind, extreme heat or cold and, of course, gnats and mosquitoes. All this in addition to sometimes navigating perilous terrain while carrying their painting supplies to the perfect location. The outdoor field study can stand on its own as a finished piece, or it can be used as inspiration or reference for a larger work, usually completed in the studio. Each of the artists will have a grouping of small plein air sketches or studies displayed next to the large format studio painting they inspired.

An American tourist, a caterer by trade, and his wife and daughter rush into the embassy two steps ahead of the police who suspect them of spying and picture taking. Its not much of a refuge, for the ambassador is absent and his son, now in charge, has been expelled from a dozen countries and the continent of Africa. Michelle Ronnebaum can finally breathe easy.

After years of battling chronic sinus infections and headaches, the simple act of breathing is no longer distracting and painful.

I have no recollection of ever being able to breathe like I can now, said the 38-year old Farmington mother of two.

It all changed with help from Gerard OHalloran, MD, an ear, nose and throat specialist who sees patients at FamilyHealth Medical Clinics. After three rounds of antibiotics with no relief, her primary care physician referred her to Dr. OHalloran.

A CT scan at Northfield Hospitals Medical Imaging department revealed a deviated septum and four enlarged turbinates. A single surgery corrected both problems.

The difference for Michelle is day and night. Her spring allergies are now tolerable, the sinus headaches disappeared and her sleep has improved.

When I go to sleep, I actually sleep now, Michelle said.Dr. OHalloran says Michelles experience demonstrates that there is hope for those with chronic sinus infections.
