Hello all GSHBA Membership,

With the summer months fading away with the start of school and

the cooler nights, I sit back and wonder if we even had a summer

of 2014.

I would like to thank the golf committee members that put on an

excellent golf outing in July. It was a nice day to have a break

from our everyday lives and the hustle and bustle of work. Al-

though it was nice and cool for golfing, I must say the dunk tank was a wee bit chilly. Thank you, John

Marty for taking part in this with me.

Art in the park will be held on September 20th from 10:00 until 4:00 at Bukoult Park. If anyone is

interested in helping out for this event please contact Beth McBride as she is coordinating this event.

This will be a good way to show the public what we as members do to show our support for the com-

munity.

September 16th will be the Installation and awards Banquet. This Banquet will be held at The Sky

Club. The Installation Banquet will be a special day, and I encourage all members to attend as we

will be installing new board members and will also be welcoming our new President (John Marty) and

President Elect (Jennifer Novotny). It also will be a farewell to a very special person (Bev Royer) as

her last meeting as Executive Officer of more than 29 years for our builders association. I know many

members and past presidents that have worked with her over the years can understand how impor-

tant she has been in guiding the association in the path of success to make the Golden Sands Home

Builders Association who they are today, as members and as an association. I would like everyone to

come out and say good luck to Bev in her future retirement.

September will be my last meeting as President of the association. I would like to thank all of the

members; past presidents, Bev and the committees that have helped me have a good term. I appreci-

ate the fact, that so many individuals came together to form committees and work together for the

cause This proves that strong committees are important to the success of our events throughout the

year. I strongly encourage members to get involved with these committees in the future as it is a

great way to meet new people and network.

The 2014 Annual Jeff Nygaard Golf Outing is in the books and the golf committee could not be happier with

the overall turn-out and the final results of our fundraising efforts. It was another successful year where our din-

ner, hole and event sponsors have provided financial support to make the outing possible. As many as 65 golf-

ers participated in this year’s event and with the strong “performance” by two brave men, Bruce Woyak and

Jon Marty, we’ve raised over $1,300 for the Jeff Nygaard Scholarship fund.

Golfers were treated with exciting entertainment provided by hole sponsors as they enjoyed their 9 hole round

at the Wisconsin River Golf Course. Several foursomes dressed up in unique outfits to show their team spirit and

challenge the others to win an award. There were plenty of other games and competitions to win gift certifi-

cates, door prizes, etc. We appreciate the support of several association members as they donated items, which

contributed to our raffle basket give-aways.

Special THANKS goes out to the entire Golf Outing Committee. These folks have put in a lot of time and effort

to ensure the event runs smoothly and everyone has a great time: Beverly Royer (GSHBA), Carrleen Hyer (Hyer

Construction), Justin Breyhan (Blenker Building Systems), Dan Hebbe and Bob Siskoff (BMO Harris Bank), Stacy

and Kurt Bergman (Bergman Builders), Beth McBride, Tara Theis and Nate Alm (PuroClean) and Tawnya Schilt.

I would also like to thank the folks at the Wisconsin River Golf Course for their hospitality and great service.

Congratulations to all winners and I hope to see everyone back in 2015.
