Cross  Reference  diagrams  show  documents,  service  ?ckets,  JCL,  DB/2  CRUD,  and  other  ar?facts  that  reference  the    program  we  are  analyzing.  

References  from  documents  are  created  using  meta  data  and  the  document  contents.      This  Visio  diagram  was  converted  to  .PDF  so  users  do  not  need  Visio  to  view  it.  

A  simple  search  for  “CICS”  in  all  programs  finds  all  of  my  code.  

This  is  a  complexity  analysis  on  all  “CICS”  programs  sorted  by  difficulty.    It  is  generated  on  the  fly  using  industry  standards.  Addi?onal  fields  can  be  added  as  needed  for  planning  project  resources.  

SMART  TS  XL  is  designed  as  an  open  technology  you  can  leverage  using  APIs.      You  can  create  your  own  widgets  to  display  any  data  to  fit  your  environment,  processes,  and  procedures.    This  widget  will  search  the  same  36  CICS  programs  and  generate  a  diagram  showing  how  they  func?on  together  (if  they  do).  

This  xref,  includes  copybooks  found  that  help  show  the  connec?on  between  modules  containing  our  search  criteria.      All  documents  generated  in  SMART  TS  XL  can  be  exported  as  Word,  Excel,  or  HTML.  

This  widget  takes  a  field  name  and  tracks  the  usage  through  programs,  through  mul?ple  itera?ons.  

The  output  of  the  Field  Tracker  Tool  shows  the  “lineage”  of  our  two  level  one  fields  through  all  COBOL  programs.

Clicking  on  the  package  shows  all  components  that  were  involved  in  the  last  migra?on.

Another  useful  widget  is  the  COBOL  Control  Flow  Diagram  Tool.  It  generates  a  flow  diagram  of  any  COBOL  program  on  the  fly.  

Expand  content  of  selected  object  types.    Click  on  an  object  and  see  the  line  of  code,  click  on  a  line  of  code  and  move  to    the  object  it  references.  

Simplify  your  view  by  selec?ng  upstream,  downstream  or  both  direc?ons  from  a  key  point  of  interest  in  your  code.  

Easy  to  read  JCL  Expansion.    Procs,  Symbolic  variables,  Parms,  and  Card  libs  are  expanded  in  stream.  View  your  JCL  as  it  looks  at  run?me.  

For  any  language  you  can  find  all  programs  that  are  suspected  orphans  and  could  be  removed  from  your  system.
