Tube Venturi, Replacement

You must read and understand the precautions andguidelines in Service Information, group 20, "GeneralSafety Practices, Engine" before performing thisprocedure. If you are not properly trained and certifiedin this procedure, ask your supervisor for trainingbefore you perform it.

Pressure Differential Sensor

Removal1Apply the parking brake and place the shift leverin neutral.

Disconnect the wiring harness lead from the connectorterminal on the pressure differential sensor.

3Loosen and remove the mounting bolts and remove thepressure differential sensor from the venturi tube.

4Remove the sensor assembly from the mounting flangeon the venturi tube.

Installation1Ensure new seals are in position on the pressuredifferential sensor mounting flange.

Place the pressure differential sensor in position on theventuri tube and install the mounting bolts.

3Tighten the mounting bolts to specification.

4Connect the wiring harness lead to the sensor terminal.

5Due to the Engine Electronic Control Unit (EECU) selflearning capability, it is necessary to reset learnedEECU parameters after servicing some engine relatedcomponents. This allows the EECU to learn the newcomponents behavior. After servicing is complete,perform the “Learned Data Reset” using the PC tool. Thisis located in the Function Group 1 menu.

Venturi Tube

Removal1Apply the parking brake and place the shift leverin neutral.

2Disconnect the wiring harness lead from the pressuredifferential sensor terminal.

Note: The pressure differential sensor can be removedfrom the venturi tube or left in place and removed asan assembly with the venturi tube.

Loosen and remove the V-clamps at the top and bottomends of the venturi tube.

Remove the retainer strap fasteners that secure theventuri outlet pipe to the venturi tube mounting bracket.

Remove all fasteners securing the venturi tube to themounting bracket.

6Remove the venturi tube from the engine.

Installation1Place a new O-ring on the 90-degree elbow.

2Place a new O-ring on the venturi tube outlet flange.

3Place the venturi tube in position on the mounting bracket.

Check that the O-ring is properly positioned on the venturitube and install the V-clamps connecting the venturi tubeto the crossover piping and 90-degree elbow. Tighten theclamps to specification.
