The next step is to buy a web address, one for our product website and one for our own product review website.

The idea is to purchase a keyword rich domain name, ideally a 3 word keyword phrase

From your keyword search, you have compiled a list of 4 -6 phrases with good search volumes and low levels of competition

The key is choosing the right mix of keyword phrases to target.

line. We want to create possible domain names from these keywords. You can do this by removing the space between the words. For example, ...

By removing the spaces between words you’d have .. abcdogtraining advanceddogtraining agilitytrainingfordogs

Do that for all the keywords in the text file. Don't worry about adding on the .com

Domain Name Availability

Now we are going to see what domain names are available. Copy the keyword list to a bulk register tool.

I like to use the bulk register tool at GoDaddy.com. It can handle a list of up to 500 domain names.

After you copy your list in the box provided, click the .com checkbox.

Enter the access code (this is to verify that you are human and not a bot). Then click the search button.

Domains that are not available will be listed first with the word ERROR in front of it.

The domain names that remain in the below that are available to be registered.

Available Domain Name List

Copy the available domain list to your text file.

This is your list of available domain names that contain popular keywords.

At this stage eliminate any names that contain numbers or dashes, domains that are too long and domains that include trademarks.

When you register the domain, you will “own” the domain name.

Domain Name

Select a domain name with an exact keyword search.

Look for 3 word phrases for keywords, ie “dog gift baskets”, “acne pillow cases”.

This phrase needs to form part of your Domain name.

It is important to check a number of domain name registration websites so you may obtain your domain names at the cheapest prices.

Bulk Registration

With your 4 - 6 keyword phrases, we need to determine which ones are available as domain names

A simple way of doing this is going to a domain name registration website and doing a bulk registration of the 4 -6 keyword phrases to see which ones are available.

Try websites such as: www.godaddy.com, www.namecheap.com or

www.adomainname4you.com Undertake a bulk registration to determine what domain

names are available. For Australian domain names, try

www.crazydomains.com.au

Domain Name Choice

Normally you would choose two domain names: one for your blog (www.whatcanhelpmesleep.org) one to link to the affiliate product (www.whatcanhelpmesleep.net)

Ideally, you’d like the blog domain name to be a “.com” whereas the link to the affiliate product to be a “.net”

When the “.com” domain is taken try for the “.net” and “.org” domains.

If the “.net” domain is taken try for the “.org” and “.info” domains.

When all of them are taken use a hyphen (-) between one of the keywords in your phrases.

Domain Name Preferences

When you know what domain names are available, keep in mind:

.org – sounds official .info – usually indicates an information website Keep away from .biz as this suggests “internet

marketing” If the .com, .org and .net domain names have

already been taken, go and check those specific websites as they might be your direct competition.

Domain Name Preferences When selecting an appropriate domain name, the order of

preference is important to consider. Given that our focus is on the US market, the order of preference should be, .com, .net then .org.

Masking and Forwarding

Before you finally register domain name you intend to use as the link to the affiliate product , you will need to disguise and divert it.

What this means is that you need to “cloak” your affiliate product hoplink and identify it as your own domain name.

This process is called, “masking and forwarding”.

Need to click on “enable forward” to begin the forward and mask process.

This is done prior to final confirmation of domain registration.

If you don’t, there will be time delays in going back and resetting parameters otherwise.

Domain Valuation Tool

If you want you can use a domain valuation tool to determine value of each available domain.

A free domain valuation tool to check the value of your potential domains can be found at www.estibot.com or at www.siteprice.org.

It's important to understand that the value of your domain is subjective. Ultimately, your domain is worth what someone else is willing to pay.

Keep in mind that domain names containing popular keywords may be considered more valuable.

Domain Name Registration

The final step of our process is to register the domains you want to own.

There are several good domain registrars that you can use to register your domain.

Expect to pay around $10 per year. You will be surprised to find out how easy it is

to find plenty of available domain names for every niche. You may even find some valuable domains you can register.

A number of drop shipping companies offer the opportunity for people to develop their own business-in-a-box e-commerce websites. They will even allow you to create your own brand name website and promote it.

A niche is: Low competition and High interest. Search Count refers to number of times a word is

searched. Exact Phrase Count refers not only to the number times

that phrase appears as searches but also in website pages. It is the number of webpages indexed by Google for the exact phrase. (Think of it as market competition)

Measure Of Backlinks provides the estimated number of backlinks required to land on the first page of Google search results.

Strength of Competition refers to how many other websites are targeting the same keyword phrase

Using Micro Niche Finder

Micro Niche Finder uses a traffic light system for the specific level of competition, light (green), moderate (yellow) and High (red) to indicate the ease in ranking high in the search engines.

The important point here is that by comparing the “Search Count” with the “Exact Word Count”, “MOB” and “SOC” you are looking for a potential market niche you could exploit.

For example, you may find a keyword phrase that has a relatively high “Exact Phrase Count”, however it may have a green tick in SOC which means that even though there is a bit of competition, it is weak or of very little strength.

Anything from 250 onwards is good, ideally 2,000 and above is what you should be aiming for.

Exact Phrase Count Obviously the lower the better is the ideal, however anything less

than 100,000 is good. MOB (Measure of Backlinks)

A MOB number of 100 or less is good in that it means less time being spent developing the backlinks required to obtain a high page rank.

SOC (Strength of Competition) Ideally a green tick (up to 50) or yellow exclamation if the count is

under 100.

Next Session Weekly Activity: Website Domain Name Go to GoDaddy and in the “Domain Name Search” ad

box you will see “bulk registration”. Click on this and paste in your 4 refined keyword

phrases. GoDaddy will then give you a list of available domain names based on your keyword list.

Select one of the “.info” domain names that most closely describes your affiliate product as this is usually at a cheap price.
