Pictello (iPad, iPhone and iPod touch). In this tutorial you will create a Sharing Server account, upload a story to the server, and download a story using a story code.

Create an Account

To upload stories to the Pictello Sharing Server, you must have an account. Accounts are free. To create an account, tap the Sharing Server button. !!!!!!!!Tap Create Sharing Account. !!!!!!!!!!!!Fill in a username and your first and last name. Enter a password, which must be at least 4 characters and contain at least one number. Confirm your password. Finally, enter your email address. We will email you at this address if you forget your password and ask us to reset it for you. When finished, tap Create Account.

Upload a Story to Sharing Server

Find the story you want to upload, and tap the Edit button. Then tap the story’s row. !!!!!!!!!!A list of choices will appear. Select Share. !!!!!!!!!!Another list of choices will appear. Select Share as Pictello Story. !!!!You will be given a choice between the Sharing Server and iTunes File Sharing. Select Sharing Server. !

If you have not logged into your account yet, you’ll be asked to give your username and password. After doing so, tap Login. Tap Forgot My Password

or Forgot Username to retrieve your password or username. Tap on a username listed below Recent Usernames

to insert a username that’s recently used on this device. !!Once you’re logged in, your story will be sent to the Sharing Server. The server will send back an 8 digit code which is the “name” of your story on the server. You can choose to copy this code to the clipboard and paste it into another app. !!!!If your device is configured to send email, you will be given a choice to email the code. If you send the code to someone who has the Pictello app, they can download the story into Pictello on their device. If your device is not configured for email, you will not see the email option. !!!!!!!!!

Enter the email address, or press the + to access your address book. Add any text you like to the message, and then tap Send. !!!!! !

Downloading a Story Using a Code

Make sure you have a story code available, and tap the Sharing Server button. !!!!!!!!!If you have a code on the clipboard, you can paste it into the story code field. To paste, tap and hold on the story code field, and a Paste button will appear. Tap the Paste button and the code will be entered. If you did not copy a code, type in the code in the story code field. Finally, tap Download to retrieve the story from the server.!!!!!!
