Mark your calendars for sessions 4 & 5:
June 12 and July 24
Worship at St. Francis Senior Ministries:
Here at St. Francis, our faith is at the center of everything we
do. Every day at St. Francis Home begins with a Mass or
Communion Service at 9:30 a.m. Masses are also offered
regularly at Elizabeth Schaefer Apartments and at Friedman
Village. We also offer Confession and Anointing of the Sick
once a month.
Interdenominational Worship is offered every Sunday
afternoon at Friedman Village Assisted Living (1:00 ) AND
at St. Francis Home (2:00). The St. Francis Home service is
led by a team of local pastors while Rev. Beth Westphal, our
Manager of Mission and Pastoral Care, leads the one at
Friedman Village. Both services are designed to be
comfortable for worshippers from most mainline
denominations. We also offer an Interdenominational
Communion Service on each month. Our next service will be
Tuesday, May 22, at 3:30pm.
Our ST. FRANCIS HOME Bible Study meets every
Wednesday at 3:15, in the 3rd floor solarium. We study the
lessons appointed for the upcoming Sunday and talk about our
life of faith together. New members are welcome at any time.
The ELIZABETH SCHAEFER APARTMENTS Bible
Study will resume on May 15, at 2:00pm. The group meets
on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month in the lounge at the
Elizabeth Shaffer Apartments. We're working on a study of
the life, death and resurrection of Jesus that includes video
presentations by Joe Castillo, sand artist. This session would
be a great time for new members to join us!
MAY CROWNING, Monday, May 21, at 2:00 pm. Every
year, during the month of May, Catholics around the world
honor the Blessed Virgin Mary and celebrate the coming of
Spring by choosing a May Queen and King to crown a statue
of Mary. Our celebration will begin at 2:00 pm in the St.
Francis Home Chapel and will conclude with cake and punch
in the dining room. Whether you have fond memories of these
celebrations from your childhood, or have never heard of this
before, the May Crowning is guaranteed to put a smile on your
face and a song in your heart!
Special SpiritSpace Event
On Saturday, May 5th from 10:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. there will be a mini Home and
Garden Show at SpiritSpace Gallery and
Gifts at St. Francis. A pottery and art show
as well as a flower sale will be featured.
Pottery students will show and sell some of
their work. Sister Jane’s spring line of
pottery will be on sale also. Refreshments
and a door prize for all those attending.
Come on over and browse around and
hopefully it will be a pretty day. Contact
Sister Jane for more details at 567-207-5393.
The next two Nurse Aide Training Classes at St. Francis
Home will begin on May 7th and June 4th. If you
would be interested or know of someone who would be,
please contact Emily Youngston or Donna Pryor in
Human Resources at (419) 447-2723.
