Green Bamboo Shelter

Green Bamboo helps young boys who have been living on

the streets to learn the skills they need to become

independent and successful. It provides access to

education and short-term shelter. The shelter always tries

to place the children back with their families; however if this

is not an option, long-term accommodation is available.

Younger children receive food and beds in exchange for

attending school, and older children can stay for up to two

years while they undergo vocational training. There are

currently 20 children from a variety of backgrounds living in

the shelter. The shelter also helps over 25 children in the

wider community annually, assisting them in any way they

can. Volunteers help with English classes as well as weekly

football, swimming or roller skating outings!

Go Vap Orphanage

Go Vap Orphanage provides food, housing, and

education to about 200 children in the outskirts of

Ho Chi Minh City. Many of the children, aged from

newborns to eighteen years old, have mental or physical

disabilities and the orphanage raises and educates them.

The people who care for the children are loyal, caring and

diligent, but sadly their resources are limited. Volunteers

help to care for the young children and work with the

older children on physical therapy routines. The orphans'

rooms are often �lled to maximum capacity leaving little

room for personal space. The orphanage receives a lot of

support from various donors but such a big operation is

constantly in need of supplies.

Bung Sang Blind ShelterThe Bung Sang Shelter for the Visually Impaired is part of the umbrella organization ? There are very few shelters in Vietnam that o�er support to blind children and they often come from across Vietnam to pursue educational and vocational opportunities. The shelter facilitates their education at various schools and universities specially catered for the visually impaired. It also provides the students with in-house vocational training including piano lessons, computer skills, handicraft skills, and massage training. The shelter houses children under the age of 18, or until they �nish high school and then o�ers assistance to those who have graduated by helping them to �nd housing and continuing their education. The shelter aims to provide the children with opportunities to gain

con�dence, have fun and become independent and successful contributors to their communities. Volunteers help by providing music and guitar lessons, as well as English practice!

Ung Buou Hospital

The Ho Chi Minh City Ung Buou Cancer Centre is the

only hospital of its kind in the south of Vietnam.

It treats cancer in all its forms in children and

adults. The children's ward has 130 in patients

in seven rooms each containing 4 beds.

There are also 200 outpatients.

The children are very ill and many are �ghting

infections as well as cancer. The doctors and

nurses are doing the best they can to treat them

with limited resources. As a result of this, cases with a

high chance of being cured are given priority. There are

6 doctors and 16 nurses to care for all the children

staying there. Volunteers help to support the sta� by

providing English classes for job training.

As there are few nurses to care for the children their

families stay with them as well. This makes the rooms

vastly overcrowded. Children can often be found

receiving treatment on the �oor or under beds. Many

children have infections due to the conditions. The

hospital estimates 75% of the children currently being

treated will not live beyond the next �ve years.

Volunteers aim to raise the spirits of the patients, give

the families a break and help take everyone’s mind o�

of the illnesses that the children are facing.

Volunteer:We host a variety of activities at each of the shelters, so donate your time and give back to the community in a unique and meaningful way. • We have English classes, music classes, guitar lessons, football, swimming, play dates, movie nights and craft nights currently running at our shelters.• If you have any special talents that you want to share let us know!

Fundraise:We organize a variety of events throughout the year for teachers, staff, students and families to enjoy and 100% of all the money raised supports a broad range of on-going projects at each of our organisations. • Some of our past fundraising events have included: football tournaments, art exhibits, bring and buy sales, lucky draws, pub quizzes, concerts and other themed parties.• With the funds we have provided education and health care support, we have repaired and improved the buildings, we paid for transport costs during Tet and we have bought equipment and other supplies.• You volunteer to help us with our events, support them through attendance or let us know if you have a new and exciting idea!

Donate:Make a donation directly to the shelter of your choice! We act as the liaison between the shelters and the general public and ensure that your money goes exactly where you would like it to. • Donate ‘old’ items for others to buy “new at the next bring and buy.• Donate school supplies during our annual drive in September.• Sponsor a Christmas gift for a child and help spread the Christmas spirit.• Give a child the opportunity to have an education and sponsor their school fees through our School Sponsorship Programme.• Private donors give money to cover the school fees for students in elementary school to university who would otherwise not have a chance at education. • Make a cash donation to help support the shelters meeting their needs, provide educational or vocational training to a child or provide a surgery for a child at the orphanage.

Little Rose Warm Shelter

The Little Rose Warm Shelter provides care, education

and assistance to girls who are at high risk of abuse.

The girls often have nowhere else to go and the shelter

is a safe place for the girls that o�ers them hope for the

future. Vocational training along with outing trips and

various classes o�er the girls the opportunity to gain

con�dence and independence. There are currently 20

girls from a variety of backgrounds living at the shelter.

Volunteers help with educational training through

English classes as well as providing fun and carefree

movie nights for the girls to relax.

Blue Dragon Children’s Intiative – HanoiBlue Dragon works with a range of children and youths; they’re aged from 6 to 20, many have been street kids or are living in extremely di�cult circumstances. The Blue Dragon operates out of a centre where kids can come to play, study and meet their Social Worker. Each child has an individual plan to help them become self-reliant and successful as they grow up. Education is a main focus of each plan and Blue Dragon o�ers the children the chance to catch up as they have often fallen through the cracks of the traditional education system. Volunteers help to meet this need by volunteering their time to teach a variety of di�erent classes.

The ILA Community Network

Mission:

The ILA Community Network (ILACN) aims to make a real

difference to the lives of disadvantaged children in the

communities in which ILA operates with Ho Chi Minh

City as our home base.

Who we are:

We are a group of ILA teachers and staff who came

together to give back to the community we live in!

We support five organisations around Ho Chi Minh City,

as well as working with organisations in our regional

communities as well.

What we do:

We direct our efforts towards projects that help the

children at these organisations in an immediate and

on-going way.

Teachers, staff, students, and their families donate

their time and money to a broad range of on-going

projects.

All operating costs of the ILACN are covered by

ILA Vietnam so that 100% of every contribution

received goes directly to the intended recipient.

We work closely with each organization to find

out what is needed most and then deliver the

product or service to the organizations we

support.

Mái ấm Tre Xanh

Mái ấm Tre Xanh cho các em trai đến từ đường phố một mái

nhà, những bữa cơm và cho các em cơ hội đến trường. Đến

từ những môi trường khác nhau, với những hoàn cảnh khác

nhau, các em thật sự cần sự quan tâm chia sẻ, cũng như kỷ

luật nghiêm khắc để nên người. Hiện có khoảng 20 em trai

sống tại mái ấm.

Trung tâm bảo trợ trẻ em Gò Vấp

Trung tâm bảo trợ trẻ em Gò Vấp nuôi dưỡng hơn 200

em có từ sơ sinh cho đến 18 tuổi. Phần lớn các em ở

đây bị bệnh tâm thần, bệnh down, bệnh não hoặc bị

bại liệt. Các cô bảo mẫu ở đây rất tận tình và chu đáo,

nhưng với điều kiện vật chất còn nhiều khó khăn, các

cô đôi lúc cũng lực bất tòng tâm.

Mái ấm khiếm thị Bừng SángMái ấm khiếm thị Bừng Sáng là ngôi nhà cho khoảng 43 người khiếm thị có độ tuổi từ 8 đến 26. Các em này đến với mái ấm từ mọi miền đất nước, được mái ấm chăm sóc, gởi đi học chữ và học nghề tại các trường dành cho trẻ khiếm thị. Bên cạnh đó, các em cũng được học một số nghề ngay tại mái ấm như đàn piano, vi tính, làm nghề thủ công và nghề massage.

Khu bệnh nhi bệnh viện

Ung Bướu thành phố

Hồ Chí MinhBệnh viện Ung Bướu thành phố Hồ Chí Minh là bệnh

viên chuyên khoa ung thư trong toàn miền nam,

điều trị cho cả trẻ em và người lớn ở tất cả các dạng

ung thư. Khu bệnh nhi của bệnh viện hiện có 130

bệnh nhân nội trú trong 7 phòng bệnh, mỗi phòng

chỉ có 4 giường. Ngoài ra khu bệnh nhi còn có 200

bệnh nhân ngoại trú.

Các em ở đây phần lớn ngoài bệnh ung thư còn mắc

thêm một số bệnh khác do nhiễm trùng thứ phát.

Chỉ có 6 bác sĩ và 16 y tá phục vụ tại khu bệnh nhi

này, nên dù cố gắng hết sức, các y bác sĩ cũng gặp

rất nhiều khó khăn. Vì vậy, những em có triển vọng

chữa lành cao hơn sẽ được ưu tiên hơn, các em còn

lại thì đành phải chờ đợi.

Tham gia tình nguyên:Chúng tôi có rất nhiều hoạt động phong phú và ý nghĩa tại các mái ấm, bạn chỉ cần dành chút thời gian đến tham gia với chúng tôi mà thôi.• Hiện tại đang có lớp dạy tiếng Anh, lớp dạy nhạc, lớp dạy đàn guitar cho các em khiếm thị; các hoạt động ngoài trời như đá banh, bơi lội với các em trai; ngày giao lưu với các em mồ côi; xem phim và làm thủ công với các em gái…

Tham gia các hoạt động gây quỹHàng năm, chúng tôi tổ chức rất nhiều sự kiện cho giáo viên, nhân viên, học viên và phụ huynh cùng tham gia. Các mái ấm luôn nhận được 100% số tiền quyên góp được từ các hoạt động này.

• Các hoạt động gây quỹ mà chúng tôi đã tổ chức có thể kể đến như: giải đá banh, triển lãm nghệ thuật, hội chợ đồ cũ, bán vé sổ xố, các buổi đố vui, hòa nhạc và các buổi tiệc theo chủ đề.

• Với số tiền này, chúng tôi tài trợ cho các mái ấm tiền học và chăm sóc sức khỏe cho các em, mua vé xe cho các em về quê ăn Tết, mua trang thiết bị và vật dụng hằng ngày cho mái ấm cũng như giúp các mái ấm sửa chữa và cải tạo nhà cửa.

• Bạn hãy giúp đỡ chúng tôi bằng cách tham gia vào các hoạt động này (đóng góp một khoản phí nhất định). Và đừng ngại cho chúng tôi biết nếu các bạn có ý tưởng mới để gây quỹ.

Đóng góp trực tiếp Bạn có thể đóng góp tiền mặt trực tiếp cho một trong những mái ấm của chúng tôi. Chúng tôi sẽ đóng vai trò làm cầu nối giữa bạn và mái ấm, đồng thời cam kết bảo đảm số tiền bạn quyên góp được sử dụng đúng theo mục đích mà bạn mong muốn.Hoặc bạn cũng có thể:

• Quyên góp đồ cũ (quần áo, DVD, vật dụng) còn sử dụng được cho những buổi hội chợ đồ cũ.

• Quyên góp dụng cụ học tập cho chương trình vào tháng 9 hàng năm.

• Tặng quà cho các em tại mái ấm vào dịp Giáng Sinh.

• Tài trợ cho việc học chữ và học nghề của các em tại các mái ấm.

Mái ấm Hoa Hồng Nhỏ

Mái ấm Hoa Hồng nhỏ là nơi chăm sóc, giúp đỡ và

giáo dục các em gái có độ tuổi từ 12 đến 18. Các em

này đã từng là nạn nhân của tệ nạn xâm hại tình

dục hoặc buôn bán trẻ em.

Hiện tại có khoảng 30 em gái đến từ khắp nơi sống

tại mái ấm.

Tổ chức ILA Cộng Đồng

Nhiệm vụ:

Tổ chức ILA Cộng Đổng được thành lập với mục đích mang

lại những thay đổi tích cực cho cuộc sống của các trẻ em

kém may mắn tại những tỉnh thành có cơ sở của trường

anh ngữ ILA, trong đó thành phố Hồ Chí Minh được xem

là trụ sở chính.

Chúng tôi là ai?

Chúng tôi là thầy giáo, trợ giảng và nhân viên của trung

tâm anh ngữ ILA. Chúng tôi tập hợp nhau lại, mong

muốn đóng góp sức mình cho cộng đồng với tin tưởng

“Một cây làm chẳng nên non, ba cây chụm lại nên hòn

núi cao”

Hiện tại, chúng tôi đang tài trợ thường xuyên cho năm tổ

chức từ thiện tại thành phố Hồ Chí Minh. Bên cạnh đó,

chúng tôi cũng cộng tác với các trung tâm từ thiện tại

những tỉnh thành khác mà trung tâm ILA có cơ sở hoạt động.

Chúng tôi làm gì?

Chúng tôi tập trung vào những hoạt động thiết thực và

những kế hoạch lâu dài nhằm giúp đỡ trẻ em tại các tổ

chức từ thiện nói trên. Giáo viên, nhân viên, học sinh và

phụ huynh tại của ILA đều có thể đóng góp thời gian và

tiền bạc vào những hoạt động của chúng tôi bằng cách

tham gia vào nhiều chương trình khác nhau.

ILA Vietnam là công ty bảo trợ cho chi phí hoạt

động của ILACN, vì thế, toàn bộ số tiền từ thiện

chúng tôi nhận được đều được trao tận tay các

mái ấm.

Chúng tôi luôn theo sát các hoạt động của mái

ấm, thường xuyên gặp gỡ với người quản lý để

hiểu rõ các nhu cầu, cập nhật thông tin kịp thời,

nhờ vậy chúng tôi luôn đáp ứng thích hợp và

nhanh chóng với các nhu cầu này.
