Academics: Results 100% for all the classes: We are proud to announce that one of our
faculty Member Ms. Dalima Parwani, HOD, Computer Science has secured 2nd Position in
M.Ed. Merit List BU of 2013-14.
4 students have received Gold Medals in the University Convocation recently held on
06.02.2017.

1. NSS:-
Ms. Nabahat Hasan, an outstanding NSS Volunteer, visited Peoples Republic of China
under Youth Exchange Programme of Govt. of India in June 2016 and there she won prizes
among 100 students:
a) I Prize in Calligraphy
b) II Prize in Article Writing on the theme 'Me and China'
Our college hosted a DISCUSSION with students of majority of colleges of the
University with Chinese Delegation comprising of 100 chinese students and 10
officials under YEP.
During Celebration of 46th Foundation day of Barkatullah University on
01-08-16 our student Ms. Nabahat Hasan student of B.Com. Honours, volunteer of
NSS, was honoured for her achievements.
The second half of the program has cultural performances in which Sant Hirdaram
Girls College students presented a song, which was, well appreciated and applauded.
NSS PO,Ms. Meenakshi Shrivastava was selected and attended NIC at Nagpur.
In addition to unit level, camp organized every year in the adopted village, other
activities for social benefits and capacity building are also organized with great
zeal and enthusiasm.
Under Red Ribbon Club, various activities are organized for AIDS Awareness and
Sensitization.
Digital India Program of Prime Minister 7 NSS Volunteers along with NSS PO,
Ms. Meenakshi Shrivastava attended the workshop.
One-day “Free of Cost Mega Health Check-Up” camp was organized on 19/03/2016
at the adopted village “Barkheda Salam” of our college. There were seven specialists
(Gynaecologist, Pediatrician, Dentist, Dermatologist, Orthopedic, Ophthalmologist,
General physician and Dietician).
Performance of ‘Surya Namaskar’ is a regular feature On 12.01.2017, Thursday,
NSS Unit of SHGC organized Surya Namaskar on the occasion of Yuva Diwas,
Birthday of our inspiring soul “Swami Vivekanand ji”. His life and teachings were also
shared.
Inter Collegiate Debate Competition on the topic “Gender Equality is not only
morality right it is a pivotal for sustainable human development”. Our students
bagged II Prize in both the categories i.e. for and against the motion.
NSS organized several awareness programs for the social cause; Blood Donation
Camp, Cashless India, Clean India Rally etc. and cadets took part enthusiastically.
2. NCC :-
CWS Scholarships (Cadet Welfare Society Scholarship Award (2015) was awarded
to Cadet Lalita Kumari (only cadet) by Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh Directorate.
Cadet Ragini was selected for RD, Chilka she was part of Sailing team comprising of
two students.

One PO cadet Bharti Vishwakarma won first prize in many competition and
declared as the Best Cadet of Camp. Cadet Dimple Gyanchandani won first prize
in Essay Competition.

were organized on 16.03.2016
Youth Fest on 7th and 8th October, 2016. Various competitions were organized like
essay, poster, painting, best out of waste, model, group song, group dance and
open quiz competition. Around 646 students from 22 different schools
participated in the events with full enthusiasm.
Fourth Annual National Management Fest “JSS Carnnival” has been organized at
JSSGIW, Bhopal on 21st & 22nd Oct. 2016. It was an amalgamation of various
management events and cultural activities. In the two days fest, 97 Students from
SHGC participated and bagged prizes in six events.
Session by Punjab National Bank officials was organized in which chief manager
himself was present.

Workshop on Computer Hardware & its Peripherals - A 2 days’ workshop on
“Computer Hardware & its Peripherals” was organized by the Department of
Computer Science for all the undergraduate students of all the streams
Febric Painting (Fevicryl Pidilite) - 18th March and 19th March 2016. 120 for
Students & additional one day for Teachers.
Workshop on “Preservation & Conservation of Natural History Collection at RMNH,
(Regional Museum of Natural History) Bhopal (MP). Two faculty members of
Zoology Department Dr. Madhavi Gaur & Ms. Pratibha Mishra participated in the
Workshop.
Two days’ workshop on ‘Laboratory Methods of few Experiments’ in cytology and
physiology attended by Staff of Botany and Zoology.
One day Workshop on “Instrumentation Techniques in Science” was organized by
SBS Govt. UG College, Ashta on 11th March, 2016. Dr. Sugandha Singh, HOD,
Biotechnology was invited as a Resource Person in this programme.

Pandit Kunjilal Dubey Rashtriya Sansadiya Vidyapeeth, organized a debate
competition on the topic “Is Media helpful in strengthening Democracy” 27.02.2016
Ku. Jyotsana Mangtani bagged III prize.
An Intercollegiate Debate Competition was organized on the annual day celebration of
Govt. MLB Autonomous PG College, Bhopal on 29the February 2016. The topic of
the debate was “Over use of Technology has turned society into emotionless and
comfort seeking society”. Our Students won II & III Prize.
The Department of Biotechnology, Barkatullah University had organized a series of
intercollegiate competitions for biotechnology students of various colleges in
collaboration with Madhya Pradesh Biotechnology Council on 6th and 7th April’2016.
The students of Biotechnology department participated whole heartedly and brought
laurels to the college.
An Essay Writing Competition was organized by PHD Chambers of Commerce &
industry in April 2016. I position was bagged by the students of SHGC. Ku. Rimjhim
Jain of M.Sc. II Sem (Mathematics) and Ku. Anamika Thakur of M.Sc. II Sem, both
secured I position in the categories, Hindi and English respectively.

Competition held at Govt. Naveen College, Bhopal.
Ms. Shipra Singh Chauhan of B.Sc. V Sem (Phys,Chem,Maths) won II Prize in
Quiz Competition held during National Seminar on ^^izkphu ,oa vk/kqfud Hkkjr esa foKku ,oa ÅtkZ ds vk;ke** organized at Atal Bihari Bajpayee
University from 9th to 11th November,2016.
Debate comp. org. at Anand Vihar College during “Intercollegiate Talent search”
programme held on 13th January 2017. Topic for essay writing was “Democracy is
meaningless without discipline”. Three students of our college participated and got
the participation certificate. The Debate Competition on the topic “Social Networking
sites are responsible for lack of face to face interaction” was also held. *Mehvesh
jahan B.Sc. IV Sem Biotech won the 2nd Prize in debate.

Our students won the second prize in Intercollegiate Wall Painting
Competitions org. at Sadhu Vaswani Autonomous College, Bhopal on the topic “Swacchta
Abhiyan & Environmental Pollution” on 24th January, 2017.
Cashless India: A poster and slogan competition was also held on the same theme.
Ms. Anusha Mokhriwala, Ms. Saloni Jandhan & Ms. Iram Khan participated
& won 1st Prize, Trophy, Certificate and gift hamper in Techno search 2016 org. at
MANIT in association with BMC and Swachh Bharat Mission on waste management.
SISTEC-R organized “Reincarnation Program” in association with EPCO
(Environmental planning and co-ordination). Two students Bharti Kewlani and Mehwish
Jahan of B.Sc. III Sem working on Vermi Compost gave innovative ideas to reduce, reuse and
recycle the waste materials. The students won consolation prize and cash prize also.
A team of Four of our students participated & declared 1st Runner up in
Documentary preparation and presentation Competition organized at BSSS on the occasion of
World Tourism Day.

The Training & Placement Cell of Sant Hirdaram Girls College organized a special session

and Techniques in Microbiology and Pathology” was organised by Department of

Technology (MANIT) organized Technosearch 2K16 from 21st to 23rd October 2016.
There was paper presentation and model competition on topic “Solid Waste
Management”. 10 colleges from Bhopal & outside participated in the event. Three
students of our college of B.Sc. I Sem (Bio Group) namely Ms. Anusha Mokhriwal,
Ms. Saloni Jandhan & Ms. Iram Khan participated in this event & won the first prize
(Trophy, Certificate & Gift Hamper).

Spiritual Camp on Indian Culture and Spirituality from 20 th to 23rd Oct, 2016 held
at SSSWC, BHOPAL - Principal Dr. Charanjit Kaur, was invited to deliver a talk on
“Women empowerment in Sikhism” on 21st October, 2016 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am
at Sri Sathya Sai College for Women, Bhopal during 4 days Spiritual Camp held in the
college campus. More than 200 students enthusiastically attended the camp and
appreciated the talk.
