Why do we do Building Performance Audits? Sustainable Initiatives is responsible for encouraging environmental sustainability at UWA, including both sustainable teaching/research and operations: Managing carbon emissions from energy and transport Water consumption Waste and recycling Fair Trade and sustainable purchasing ie paper We look at operations from two different angles: Building Performance Workplace (Tenancy Performance) Building Performance Audits give us the baseline data on our buildings

Energy - Lights There are two main categories of lights: Ceiling Light Fittings. Need to record: Type of tube in the fitting (thickness) T5s (1/2 inch) T8s (1 inch) T12s (1.5 inch). Length of tube in the fitting 600mm (2 feet), 1200mm (4 feet), 1500mm (5 feet) Number of tubes in the fitting

Internal Environment Quality Factors that determine Indoor Environment Quality: Number of occupants (=number of desks) Lighting Quality Are there external views? Is there natural or borrowed light? Are there window blinds or shading?
