It is a requirement of law that after boarding the ship, all newly embarking passengers must attend and be instructed in their General Emergency Stations. On commencement of this exercise, broadcasts will be made and alarm bells sounded, calling you to your Muster Stations as indicated on the notice behind your cabin door. Please carry your lifejacket with you, do not wear it and for safety’s sake do not allow the belt to trail on the deck. The correct method of wearing a lifejacket will be demonstrated to you at the end of this muster. During this exercise all on board services will cease. We apologise for any resulting delay in resuming the ship’s services and thank you for your co-operation in these matters of our mutual safety. Horizon and Port Guides The ‘Horizon’ and the ‘Port Guides’ are important and useful publications to keep hold of, whilst on board or when proceeding ashore. He has enjoyed 37 years of management and ship handling experience which has taken him throughout the world; taking ships to 64 degrees south in the Antarctic and as far north as 74 degrees to Spitsbergen, navigating the Orinoco and the Amazon rivers and transiting the Suez, Keele and Panama Canals many times. Throughout his career Captain Perkins has sailed on board the Cunard Countess, Cunard Princess, QE2, Royal Viking Sun, Cunard Dynasty, and the Vistafjord and has had the honour of captaining the Caronia, Royal Princess, Regal Princess and the QE2, to which he was the last appointed Captain, before joining P&O Cruises on board the Oceana, Artemis and the Adonia. Captain Perkins lives in Suffolk with his wife Lucy and son Lawrence. Whilst on leave he enjoys catching up with family and friends, walking his Springer Spaniel named Prince and salmon fishing in Scotland. be a photo stop before

leaving the fjord and

continuing up the Skorge Valley to Ørskogfjellet mountain

plateau. Descend to the Storfjord and across a mountain

pass to the Norddalsfjord and the village of Valldal. There

will be a photo stop at the magnificent Gudbrand Gorge,

with its foaming waterfall deep below.
