Hello Members,
As fall approaches, it is important for us to gear up for the holidays that are approaching. Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner. I expect the House Committee to plan these events as needed—so when asked, please help us in making these events successful.
I want to thank Rory and Ronnie Holley and crew for the Fish Fry. What a big success!! Thanks to Heike and crew for the Poker Run, another big success. Some of you must have noticed the bathrooms and the work we have done on them. We have new tile in the men’s room and a good cleaning and wax in the ladies room. Also new cove base was installed in each. Special thanks to PDDGER Kenny Newton for the new fixtures and hinges in the ladies room. Looks great Kenny !!
The Board has decided to do some much needed renovating in the Lounge and Dining Room, which includes replacing the carpet with tile. We are doing several things to raise money for this and we are also taking donations and ideas for doing this. We need to raise approximately $2,500.00 to do this.
We have events coming up that we need our members to participate in. Our Benevolent Night is coming up October 19. Tickets are $100.00 and admits two people. This is a big fundraiser and we need your help. The indoor yard sale is October 26th. If you have items you could put in the sale, please bring them in. See more details in this newsletter.
We also need all of you to come and enjoy the Lodge and Lounge on a regular basis. This is really what carries the Lodge throughout the year. I believe we can do better than we are doing.
See you at the Lodge.
Fraternally, Bill Moss lll

Dues notices for delinquent members are coming slowly, but we are making progress. Those of you who are delinquent know who you are. Please pay your dues. A list of delinquent members has been posted at the Lodge.
My thanks to Rory, Ronnie and crew for the great job with the fish fry. An outstanding job. Great job Heike with the poker run—sounds like everyone had a lot of fun.
I join with our ER Moss to say that all members need to come and support the Lodge. All of us work hard to provide entertainment and activities for everyone. We also do many things for the Community that you may not know about. For the sixth year in a row, we have provided dictionaries for every incoming 3rd grader in the County. We will partner with Dr. Tessa Reeves again this year in the Free Dental Day. We need lots of help with this. If you can take blood pressure, temperature and help fill out medical history forms, we need you to volunteer. These dates are December 12 and13. This is just some of the things we do for the Community. You need to show up and be a part of things. This is the only way our Lodge can continue to survive. We need your help.

It was poetry in motion at the Annual Fish Fry
on Saturday, September 7th. The stage was set in our own parking lot, right at the entrance, as Ronnie Holley, Barbara Holley, Mickie Stewart, Joel Slaton, Barbara
Slaton, Duck Harrison, Lynnette Harrison, Rory Holley and Eali Holley
constructed a marvel of cooking engineering to
produce what we all know to be the best fish in town! The event was a huge success not only because of the excellent cooking, but because so many Lodge members responded to the call (and the mailing of
tickets) to come out and get some fish! Thanks to
everyone who helped set up, cook, clean up, advertise, publicize or
support in general.

Under a cloudless blue sky and a breeze that hinted gently of the autumn days ahead, riders from all over descended on the Pulaski Elks Lodge for the First Annual Pulaski Poker Run. Nikki Llewylln and Kelly Holley greeted all manner of bikes and their riders as Bill and Heike Moss and Charles Beecham registered everyone for the day’s events and detailed the course of the ride.
Starting in Pulaksi, riders rode to Fayetteville, Lewisburg, Columbia and Lawrenceburg, visiting the Lodges in each town as they went. In addition to being among a great company of people and the impressive machinery of the bikes, participants in the ride enjoyed the luxur ious beauty of middle Tennessee- the rolling hills of this “Land of Milk and Honey”.
Upon arriving back at the Pulaski Lodge, riders were treated to a meal of barbeque with all the fixings. Thank you Keith, Nikki, Heike and everyone else who helped prepare that really excellent food!
Inside the Lodge, good friends and fellow riders enjoyed imbibing and feasting while lingering over the items in the silent auction.
It was a beautiful day and a good ride. We are grateful for everyone who came out and we look forward to doing it again next year.

Indoor Yard Sale
Time to clean out your closets and sheds! The Lodge is holding an indoor yard sale on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26TH, starting at 7:00 a.m. Items can be dropped off starting Monday, October 21st and will be accepted until Thursday, October 24th. We need lots of volunteers on Thursday to help with pricing and set up. We also need folks to come out on Saturday and help with the sale. You know anytime a bunch of Elks get together a good time is bound to follow. Y’all please come out, help with the sale and let’s have a little fun.
Planning for Visitors
The Pulaski Lodge will be receiving District Deputy Sam Bass on Tuesday, November 5th. We need Lodge members to turn out to welcome our friend from Madison and show him Pulaski’s hospitality. On top of that, Sam is a pretty great guy! We will look forward to seeing you at the Lodge.
Milk and Honey Stakes
German Nite is back!!! Heike and her crew are cooking up a splendorous menu of authentic German dishes on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 9TH. Also on that night we welcome back the Milk and Honey Stakes! We had this event last May with great success. We are looking forward to another night of fun. This is a recipe for a great night. Make plans to be at the Lodge for amazing German food and a guaranteed great time.
