Sample Letter to the Editor: Letter to promote Shot@Life event or cause To the editor: For a parent, there is nothing more empowering than to see your child take his or her first step, give a first smile, celebrate a first birthday and share a multitude of childhood experiences. For many children in developing countries, these childhood milestones are out of reach due to a lack of vaccines for easily preventable diseases. Next week, the local Parents’ Club of Tillman Elementary will host silent auction to benefit Shot@Life, a national movement to educate, connect and empower Americans to champion vaccines as one of the most cost-effective ways to save the lives of children in developing countries. All proceeds will support efforts to expand vaccine delivery to countries that need it most, and through our efforts, we can help save 1.7 million children from preventable death. Everyone in Americana will be there. The area’s top restaurants will debut their specialty dessert and wine pairings, and silent auction items include gift certificates and prizes from local vendors. For more information about the event and to register, send an email to [email protected] . To become a Shot@Life champion and to learn more about the importance of vaccines, visit ShotatLife.org, because every child deserves a shot at a healthy life. John Smith, Americana, IN
