President’s Message…

TMR-30KE-TIMER

We have just finished a beautiful summer and a

very pleasant fall, life at Kussmaul is good. We have

introduced several new products and we have more in

the wings waiting patiently to be introduced.

2017 marks a milestone for Kussmaul Electronics.

We will celebrate our 50th year in business, quite an

achievement for a company that was started in the

garage of its founder my good friend and mentor,

Ernest A. Kussmaul. We are planning a year-long

celebration during which we will remind people of the

company’s history and tell the story of how many of our

main products came to be. I am deeply moved by the

fact that I have been part of the growth and longevity

that Kussmaul Electronics has seen over our first 50

years. I can assure you that just as we have been here

providing quality American made products to the emer-

gency vehicle market we will continue to be here for

many, many more years to come with more products

for our friends.

Let me take this opportunity to wish all of you a

most joyful and healthy holiday season with your loved

ones.

Radios and data terminals must operate while your vehicles engine is off and in doing so they cause a power drain on your vehicles batteries. The Kussmaul Power Timer TMR-30KE prevents dead batteries by allowing use of accessory loads per programmed time limit while preserving enough battery for engine start. In the auto sense mode, the TMR-30KE senses the charging system pickup or engine running to turn equipment on. The TMR starts timing when the engine stops.

When using the optional ignition sense mode, equipment will come on immediately with ignition ON. Timed disconnect will not occur, therefore bypassing the time-disconnect feature (recommended for emergency service vehicles to guarantee equipment operation during high electrical load conditions while idling)

The unit offers 12 Time Delay settings ranging from 6 minutes to 8 hours located on the top of the timer. The switches should not be changed while the ignition is active. Cycle the ignition before a new switch setting becomes active. In addition, there is a low and high voltage disconnect and LED indicators for sensing output power.

Engineers, and their departments are responsible for introducing the latest gizmos and gadgets; however, sometimes it’s also necessary to improve upon existing products. Kussmaul Electronics contin-uously gathers and compiles data from the field, as well as logging in customer feedback. In addition our process takes advantage of the latest CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems. These systems are used to build upon future products and improvements to existing ones. By recording every success story and gathering invaluable customer feedback, it allows us to build reliable and durable products.

This year we took that information and used it to re-vamp the Auto Pump AC, 100 PSI pump, P/N 091-9B-1. The latest 091-9B-1 (3rd generation) features lower input current and improved reliability. Themost notable benefit was to improve and streamline the restart process. The new pump isslightly larger in size and with two extra mounting holes, transitioning to the new pump will beseamless. Since there is no part number change, customers can continue to use the sameP/N that they have in the past.

As always, and as of 2017 it has been 50 years, Kussmaul Electronics engineering team is always here to help. Whether it’s a new idea or a 3D model; we will continue to be your source for engineering solutions. If you need any additional information on the Auto Pump AC or any of our products please visit our website or contact our office at 1-800-346-0857.
