Providing the safest and most reliable long haulage, warehousing and logistics services for specialize and general cargo to a range of diverse customers as well as a stock of variety of building materials for wholesale trading within the same area. Founder Haresh Vrajlal Soni spoke with us with regards to the growth and ambitions of his business.

“We’ve grown significantly over the last three
decades,” Haresh explains, “Our road
transportation sector has grown heavily and
excelled the targets given to it while our hardware trading, which
started on a similarily small scale has equally grown up to the level
it’s at today.”
Favouring a strong organic growth Shreeji Enterprises is
now heavily involved in a number of industries, most of which are
independent organisations including areas such as building material
trading, GPS tracking, aviation, leasing manufacturing, clearing and
forwarding and construction development. If one was to follow the
lineage of each of these focusses backwards they would see it leads
directly to that single truck and one man’s dream.
With almost five hundred employees working for Shreeji
Enterprises, the company has placed itself as an example of legitimacy,
ambition and innovation with a keen approach to staff development
as the source of the company’s day to day successes.
“We look at staff development and loyalty concurrently,” Haresh
explains, “There are several statutes legislated by parliament on such
things as contractural obligation, environment impact, safety and risk
management and fidelity. Internally however, training is based on
Industry segmented under craft, National examination programmes
and internal capacity building and succession.”
Staff Development is on-going and well-articulated to facilitate
succession, diversity, and dynamics due to improved equipment at
Shreeji, especially of vehicle technology and infrastructure utility.
“We are able to counter adverse staff mobility and retention
challenges while considering the financial offers from competition
and the statutory based rate of remuneration,” he adds.
“With our industry expertise, innovative technology and a modern
approach to the real world of cargo transportation and logistics,”
Haresh tells us, “Our customers are assured that their cargo is in safe
hands. We also offer a vast variety of building materials for wholesale
in the East African Market which include reinforcement bars, steel

pipes, wire products, cement and interior finishing products.”
But one of the most important elements to attribute to the
high levels of customer satisfaction comes to the almost obsessive
attention to detail, something that has been inherited from the
founder himself. The accumulative force of punctuality, accuracy
and accountability have made Shreeji Enterprises a dominant force
in this industry with a powerful reputation for highest and most
immutable levels of professionalism. Strategically situated close to
the port, Shreeji Enterprises provides haulage services directly from
the anchored ship via its warehouse situated in Shimanzi & Miritini –
Mombasa that allows them a direct route to the client.
With their products and services made available not only to the
locals in Kenya but also the neighbouring countries in the East African
Region, Haresh explains that the simple approach to managing the
hardware division has been to build strong workable relationships
with major manufacturers in Kenya to be able to provide the best
quality building materials at the most affordable rates.
Haresh states that the industry is currently buoyant but that there
are a number of hurdles to be faced such as stringent government
policies and insecurity, poor implementation of weighbridge systems
and a poor infrastructure, “This is due to the bad roads we have
though at the moment the government is trying hard to ensure that
the road network is overhauled. However they, like us are facing their
own challenges.”
Despite these challenges, 2014 and onwards is looking to
be a fantastic year for Shreeji Enterprises with fresh investment
opportunities and projects such as a new real estate development
under Delta Holding and a company rebranding expected for this
upcoming year.
“This is going to benefit the whole group by creating a new
structure that comes under Shreeji Group of Companies with the
rebranding of Shreeji Enterprises,” Haresh tells us.
He goes on to add that the Manufacturing company will be
entering into a period of expansion as it involves itself into the glass
industry and that after acquiring more aircrafts after an investment
into aviation, they will open up the potential for both regional and
international leasing.
In the same field Shreeji Enterprises will also be starting a new
leasing company that is linked to Delta Auto to provide a one stop
solution to leasing or buying vehicles with maintenance contracts.
“Delta Holdings holds a lot of prime land which will be developed
by Shreeji Construction,” he continues, “And in 2015/2016 we are
looking to invest in Agriculture as Kenya imports a lot of grains and
food products. This will in turn boost the Kenyan economy.”
