ATTACH BOOM TUBE TRAY TO THE CARRIER BASE.

Align holes; insert boltthrough metal washer andtray hole, then plasticwasher as shown.

• Tighten the nut and boltusing two wrenches.

• TIGHTEN SO THE TRAYCAN STILL PIVOT.

TO CHANGE TO DRIVER'S SIDE LOADING:

• Loosen the knob until itpops up, and the forkbase can pivot.

• Release the lower endcap by removing thepivot bolt with twowrenches.

• Slide the stopper off thebase, turn and replacethe stopper.

• Reassemble the pivotends and tighten.

• Tighten so that thebase can still pivot.

INSERT THE SKEWER INTOTHE FORK BASE.

• OPEN the lever to expose the brassadjustment wheel.

• Engage the skewer by rotating thebrass wheel.

• Leave plenty of skewer showing.

ATTACH THE QUICK-RELEASE LEVERTO THE SKEWER.

SEPARATE THE SKEWER FROM THEQUICK RELEASE LEVER.

With lever extended,rotate the brass wheelto remove the skewer.

If you changed the stopper for driver’s side loading,remember to reverse the skewer’s direction in step 4.

Note:It is not necessary to rotatethe lever, only the wheel.

Attach SideWinder to the crossbars.

If you have squarebars, loosen the tabs

in the brackets bybending them

repeatedly. Remove the tabswith scissors or

Attach two brackets percrossbar, with bracket openingtoward the center of the vehicle. Install the U-bolt over the bar

and into the plate and brackets.

REAR CROSSBAR: FRONT CROSSBAR:

Position the SideWinderoutboard as far as possibleon the crossbars.

Insert two bolts into therear plate (near the tray).

• PAD on the plate must beinstalled upward.

• HOLES must be toward therear crossbar.

If you have purchased a lock, follow lockcore instructions to install the lock.

LOAD THE TANDEM BICYCLE.

CLOSE THE LEVER.It should close with firmresistance against the forks.

If lever cannot closecompletely, loosen thewheel and repeat.

If lever closes too easily,tighten the wheel and repeat.

Remove the front wheelfrom your tandem.

Set your wheel in asafe location!

FIXER LA GOUTTIÈRE DE SUPPORT DU TUBE HORIZONTAL DU TANDEM AU TUBE PRINCIPALDU PORTE-TANDEM.

Aligner les trous; enfiler leboulon dans une rondellemétallique, le trou de lagouttière et enfin unerondelle de plastique,tel qu’illustré.

• Serrer l’écrou sur le boulonen employant deux clés.

• SERRER, MAIS ENPERMETTANT TOUJOURS ÀLA GOUTTIÈRE DEBASCULER.

POUR CHARGER PLUTÔT DU CÔTÉ CONDUCTEUR:

• Desserrer le boutonjusqu’à ce qu’il remontede lui-même et que letube pivotant puissetourner.

• Libérer le bouchond’extrémité inférieuren enlevant le boulond’articulation avecdeux clés.

• Enlever la butée en lafaisant glisser du tubeprincipal, la retourner etla remettre en place.

• Remettre en place lesbouchons d’extrémité et leboulon d’articulation.

• Serrer mais en permettanttoujours au tube pivotant detourner.

INSÉRER L’AXE À SERRAGERAPIDE DANS SON

MANCHON.

• RELEVER le levier pour avoiraccès à la molette en laiton.

• Visser le levier sur l’axe entournant la molette.

• Laisser une bonne partie del’axe exposée.

VISSER LE LEVIER SUR L’AXE ÀSERRAGE RAPIDE.

SÉPARER L’AXE À SERRAGE RAPIDE DESON LEVIER.

Relever le levier ettourner la molette enlaiton pour libérerl’axe.

Si l’on a inversé la butée pour charger du côté conducteur, ne pas oublierd’inverser aussi l’axe à serrage rapide à l’opération 4.

Remarque: il n’est pasnécessaire de tourner le

levier, seulement la molette.

Pose du porte-tandem sur les barres transversales.

Si les barres sontcarrées, assouplir lescales en les pliants

plusieurs fois.

Enlever les cales avecdes ciseaux ou des

pinces.SI ELLES SONT RONDES, CONTINUER CI-DESSOUS.

sont-elles rondesou carrées?

Poser les quatre écrous à ailettes et les serrer.

Poser deux colliers sur chaquebarre transversale, en plaçantl’ouverture des colliers vers lecentre de la voiture.

BARRE TRANSVERSALE AVANT:Enfiler le boulon cavalier par-dessus le tube,dans la plaque et dans les colliers.

Positionner le porte-tandemle plus à l’extérieur possiblesur les barres.

• La GARNITURE de la plaquedoit se trouver sur le dessus.

• Les TROUS doivent êtretournés vers la barre arrière.

Si l’on a acheté une serrure, suivre lesinstructions qui l’accompagnent pour l’installer.

Desserrer le boutonjusqu’à ce qu’il remontede lui-même et libère le

tube pivotant.

Tourner le tube pivotant vers l’extérieurde la voiture.

DÉPOSER LA FOURCHE BIEN D’APLOMB SUR L’AXE.

Sur certains véhicules particulièrementhaut, attention que le plateau du pédalier

ne touche pas en chargeant.

CHARGEMENT DU TANDEM.

RABATTRE LE LEVIER.Il doit se fermer contre la fourcheavec une bonne résistance.

Si le levier ne se rabatpas complètement,desserrer la molette etrecommencer.

Si le levier se rabat tropfacilement, serrer la moletteet recommencer.

Enlever la roue avant dutandem.

Déposer la roues là oùelle ne gênera pas!

SERRER LE LEVIER ÀSERRAGE RAPIDE.

La fourche du tandem n’estbien retenue que si le levier

se rabat avec une bonnerésistance.

Tourner la molette en laitonpour rapprocher le boîtier de la

• Ajuste la tuerca y el tornillousando dos llaves.

INSERTE LA BROQUETA ENLA BASE PARA LAS

HORQUILLAS.

• ABRA la palanca para mostrarla rueda de ajuste de bronce.

• Introduzca la broqueta girandola rueda de bronce.

• Deje fuera gran parte de labroqueta.

COLOQUE LA PALANCA DE SUELTARÁPIDA EN LA BROQUETA.

SEPARE LA BROQUETA DE LA PALANCADE SUELTA RÁPIDA.

Con la palancaextendida, gire la ruedade bronce para quitarla broqueta.

Si ha cambiado el tope para cargar del lado del conductorrecuerde invertir el sentido de la broqueta en el paso 4.

Nota:No es necesario girar lapalanca, sólo la rueda.

Coloque las cuatro tuercas hexagonales y ajuste.

Coloque dos escuadras portravesaño, con la abertura haciael centro del vehículo. Instale el tornillo en U sobre el travesaño

TRAVESAÑO DELANTERO:

Coloque el SideWinderhacia afuera tanto como seaposible sobre los travesaños.

TRAVESAÑOTRASERO:Inserte dos tornillos en laplaca trasera (cerca del riel).

• La ALMOHADILLA de la placadebe estar hacia arriba.

• Los AGUJEROS deben dirigirsehacia el travesaño trasero.

COLOQUE LAS HORQUILLAS PERPENDICULARES A LA BROQUETA.

En algunos vehículos altos, la rueda de lacadena puede tocar cuando se carga.

CARGUE LA BICICLETA TÁNDEM.

CIERRE LA PALANCA.Debe cerrar con firme resistenciacontra las horquillas.

Si la palanca no cierracompletamente afloje larueda y repita.

Si la palanca cierrademasiado fácilmente, ajustela rueda y repita.

Quite la rueda delanteradel tándem.

¡Coloque la ruedaen un lugar seguro!

AJUSTE LA PALANCA.

Las horquillas de la bicicletaestán seguras sólo después de

que la palanca cierra confirme resistencia.

Gire la rueda de bronce paraavanzar la cajuela de la
