We have often struggled with this, and strive each year to come up with a process to improve this. We are aiming to settle on a system that will stay in place with minimal changes in the future so that each of you will feel comfortable with the consistency and familiarity each season. The purpose of the polls is primarily about recognition and celebration of talents. We hope that you will find the broader range of voting options allow you to express your appreciation for the various talents that we see at SIFF each season. We know everyone won’t vote on all categories, but please take some time to vote where you feel inspired. The film makers thank you for your support.

What more does a film maker really wantthan approval and praise from their fans?

What more does a fan want than to beable to cast their vote for their faves to

show their support?

Viewer’s choice is all of that.

From this season forward we are giving you, the fans, moreopportunities than ever to play a role in the outcome of the awardsbecause we know that your opinions count more than anything else.

For these, the staff will filter out appropriatenominees for a variety of special categories, then we will put themout there for you to vote on. Here is what to expect…

These are the new, special recognitioncategories that we will voters to help us

decide on.

We ask that you take some time toreview the submissions and help us

decide on these important recognitioncategories.

Best Male and Female Voice ActorThis is a challenging one. The staff will review every single voiced role

and will nominate for both male and female. Considered fornomination are those who voiced the roles of major characters, or

who’s voice acting stood out as being particularly skilled orcaptivating. We regret that we cannot include every single voice

actor in these polls due to the sheer numbers, but also as we considerthe award to be best suited to those who have voiced major roles

where we can judge the talent and skill. All roles voiced by the actorshould be considered.

Best Title Design This is a visual/graphic art recognition, for outstanding title sequence,

be it the title of their studio or the title of the actual film.

Best Storyline in a Master, Short or Full-Length Machinima For this award we ask that you consider the story itself, rather than theentire machinima process. We want to recognize the ability to write a

good story and dialogue.

Best Choreography or Performance in a Music Video One component of a good music video is the choreography of the

dancers or a strong band performance that gives the production thefeel of a real-life music video.
