Gangtok, February 10: A meetingunder the chairmanship ofAdditional District Collector(East), Mr. Jamyang C. Namgyalwith stakeholders of the State onsensitization of Kishan CreditCard (KCC) loan scheme was heldat the office of Additional DistrictCollector (East), today.
The meeting had thepresence of Additional Director,Agriculture Department, Mrs. BinaRai, Lead District Manager, StateBank of Sikkim, Mr. Gopal Lama,General Manager, NABARD, Mrs.R. Tshering and Deputy GeneralManager, NABARD, Mr. G.Ramesh Kumar.
It may be mentioned herethat KCC is a special initiative ofthe Government to facilitateuniversal access to concessionalinstitutional credit for all PM-KISAN beneficiaries. Further, thescheme includes SMS service toall PM-KISAN beneficiaries fromPM-KISAN portal to visit theconcerned bank branch for gettingthe KCC benefit.
It is informed in the meetingthat under the scheme, the eligiblefarmers can now take benefits ofPM-KISAN under KCC once theyfill up a one page simplified form;submit land record documents andthe details of crop sown in the land.
The benefit has nowextended to eligible AnimalHusbandry and Fisheries farmersand all charges including theprocessing, documentation,inspection and ledger folio chargesas well as other service charges forKCC loans upto `3 lakhs havebeen waived.
It was also reported that2,627 beneficiaries in East Sikkimwill be covered under the KCCScheme.
ADC directed Bankbranches to prepare list of PM-KISAN beneficiaries who do nothave KCC and share the same withGovernment functionaries of LineDepartments so that they can beapproached for availing the KCCbenefit.

Mr. S.T. Tamang, SecretaryEcclesiastical Departmentwelcomed all the dignitariespresent on the dias, teachers fromvarious colleges and institutes. Hementioned that all the DharmicSchools and Sanskrit Pathshala areto be under NCERT guidelines fromnow onwards.
He said that since Sikkim isthe spiritual land of India it has itsown Dharmic and Sanskrit Schoolswith the presence of charismaticteachers who take theresponsibility of preserving thepresent teachings firmly so thatthey can pass on to the cominggenerations. He also said thatDharmic and Sanskrit teachings isgaining importance across withmany universities including theircurriculum as it is the way andpermanent means to achieve peacewhere people should live inharmony.

Gangtok, February 10: ChiefSecretary Mr. S.C. Gupta chaired aco-ordination meeting at TashilingSecretariat with regard to theupcoming Global Cinema Festival2020 Sikkim scheduled to be heldin Gangtok from February 28 toMarch 01.
The Chief Secretary wasaccompanied by the HoDs andofficials of the stakeholderdepartments of Information &Public Relations, Cultural Affairs,Tourism, Commerce & Industries,Home (Protocol), Transport andCo-operation Department, alongwith President of Film Federationof India, Mr. Firdausal Hasan, andrepresentatives of the festivalorganizing team.
It may be mentioned herethat the Global Cinema Festival2020 Sikkim is an initiative of theFilm Federation of India incollaboration with Sikkim Film Co-operative Society Limited andGovernment of Sikkim to create anatmosphere of international filmfestivals in the State and topromote Sikkim as a film locationand shooting destination. It is alsoto be informed that Sikkim is thefirst NE State to host a film festivalof such grandeur.
Addressing the gathering,Chief Secretary Mr. S.C. Guptasaid that the three-daylong GlobalCinema Festival is a step towardscreating a skill development eco-system in the field of film makingin the State that offers a greatopportunity for the people ofGangtok to appreciate cinema withan elevated experience. Hedirected all the stakeholderdepartments to co-ordinate withthe organizers to successfullyconduct the fest and urged foractive participation from allconcerned.
Expressing films as a strongmedium and influence, the CS putforward his suggestion ofcollaboration of the Global Film
Festival with the other majorfestivals of Maghey Mela andWinter Carnival and added that thefuture prospects of the same willbe discussed in the days to come.
Special Secretary, Commerce& Industries Department, Ms.Mrinalini Shrivastava, who is alsothe Festival Director, gave adetailed presentation on theitinerary of the Global CinemaFestival. She informed that thecountry in focus for the first GlobalCinema Festival in Sikkim isAzerbaijan, one of the firstcountries to be involved incinematography. The festival aimsat bringing a rich cinematicexperience to Gangtok with a rangeof 40 films including both nationaland international films, she added.
She stated that the inauguralday of the festival will be held atManan Kendra in Gangtok on 28Feb and requested the CultureDepartment for the arrangement ofproper sound system at thelocation. The delegates visitingthe State for the festival will alsobe visiting Tsomgo Lake for whichshe asked for assistance of theTourism Department for pass andpermits.
Ms. Shrivastava apprisedthe gathering about the shootingfor a corporate film scheduled tobe held from 11-17 Feb in thecapital town of Gangtok for whichshe urged for traffic assistancefrom SP East.
