Large farm experience

The Institute of AgriculturalEngineering at the Universityin Brno have carried out a costanalysis of silage production.The investigation was madeover a period of 4 years on alarge farm with around 800 ha

of green land.A comparison was made between the self-loadingwagon (EUROPROFI and JUMBO) and a 420 hp self-propelled forage harvester.All costs relating to each process were collated.The results are quite clear:

The modern EUROPROFI and JUMBO silage trailersare 30 to 40 % more economical than the self-propelled forage harvester.

Only a clean crop can guarantee trouble-free fermentation for high

energy-content silage.

That is what the Pöttinger floating pick-up is designed for.

● The wide pick-up delivers incredible performance evenwith heavy and irregular swaths. There is less stress on thedriver.

● Pick-up widths: EUROPROFI: 1.80 m, JUMBO: 2.00 m

● Six rows of tines and a tine spacing of 55 mm – every stemis picked up reliably even at high travelling speeds.

● The speed of the tine movements is synchronised with thespeed of the rotor.

● The pick-up tines are bolted onto heavy gauge tubes. Heavy-duty Super "C”-quality tines have a longer servicelife.

● The tubes are supported centrally by a metal support disc,right where the stress is highest.

heavy-duty floating frame.

● Two hinged support links at either end provideexcellent ground hugging. This pick-up adjustsboth horizontally and vertically to the groundcontours. Nothing is left behind: the turf remainsundamaged and no dirt is picked up.

● The fine-tuned counter-springs absorb any shocksand prevent the pick-up from sinking in on dampground.

High performance loading and transport capacity mean that the crop has to be

unloaded without problem as fast as possible.

● Four scraper floor chains run on large chain wheels. The split channel barsare offset. 10 mm-thick chains made from high tensile strength heat-treatedsteel.

● The scraper floor transmission is located in the middle of the wagon anddrives both sides. This prevents overloading – the shaft does not twist. Thetransmission is protected and does not protrude beyond the side of thewagon.

● The speed of the scraper floor can be regulated electronically, in reverse too.Two-speed hydraulic motor also available as option. The motor switches overto a higher speed for unloading to achieve an unbeatable discharge rate.

● Pressure impregnated floorboards are resistant todamp.

● The 34 mm thick scraperfloor boards are tongue-in-groove and are bolted tothe frame. Reliable fit.

Disconnect the front angular gear unit, removethe rear side plate, remove the rotor from therear.

Reliable operation

If the LBS controlsystem should go downyou can still operate thewagon using thestandard control box.Even if the wholesystem fails a Pöttingerwagon will not let youdown.In extreme cases allfunctions can still becarried out at the spoolvalves if absolutelynecessary.

● A signal is sent to the job computer when the level flap is actuated or theloading torque is exceeded at the inlet gear. The scraper floor is switched onand off automatically.

● The FULL signal is displayed when the crop presses against the beater rotors.● The wagon can be filled to capacity without individual components being

overloaded

LBS automatic discharge system

The unloading process is controlled by the torque measured at the inlet gear andby the beater rotors. The sequence of each motion is saved in the job computer.All you need to do is press a button and the process starts running automatically:● Tailgate opens.● The scraper floor moves forward slightly.● The beater rotors start running (no pressure is acting on them).● The scraper floor conveys the crop into the beaters.● The scraper floor stops if the pressure on the beaters is too high or the torque

is too high – there is no risk of clogging.

LBS in combination with tractor manufacturers

● Wagon can be controlled from operator terminals supplied by the tractor manufacturer.

● Together with well-known tractor makes Pöttinger have developed an interface especially for self-loading wagons

● All functions such as automatic loading and unloading are identical to the Pöttinger terminal.
