Three festivals have been celebrated in Barcelona since 2010. It’s time to ex-pand the event throughout Spain and worldwide.
Any city can host the festival.SecretsBCN advises you how to organize it.
What is SIMFONIC FestivalSIMFONIC Festival is a day of free simultane-ous concerts performed by over 5.000 music schools’ students, taking place at different emblematic venues of 17 cities of Catalonia.
The second Saturday of June, we transform the cities into a huge concert every year, be-coming every city an amazing city-concert.The performances take place at unique ven-ues such as the Picasso Museum, the Mon-astery of Pedralbes, the National Theater, or the Zoo in Barcelona; Museum Dalí Square in Figueras; Arab Baths in Girona or La Seu Vella in Lleida.
Regarding musical styles, the audience can select among classic formations as sym-phony orchestras, chamber music, piano recitals, opera and choir singing; people can choose between swing concert, big bands, jazz bands and gospel choirs; the active ones enjoy pop-rock, celtic music, funk, rap and hip hop; and for alternative people, performances such as DJ’s and electronic music or even folk and traditional music.
To whom is SIMFONIC Festival aimedThe event is aimed to all, especially for those interested in the field of music and architec-ture. Young, adults, seniors and families who want to spend a special evening enjoying good music in different locations, and partici-pate in a pioneering and innovative project.
BackgroundThe project started in 2010, aiming to show the work developed by Music Schools, bringing their music to unusual and amazing locations in Barcelona. That’s how started the first SIM-FONIC Festival, where 3.000 Music Schools’ students performed 50 free simultaneous concerts at 50 emblematic venues of the city.
After the third year, in 2013, when the Festi-val grows in number of concerts and reaches more than 25.000 people attending, Se-cretsBCN considers to extend the event, look-ing for new cities to host the Festival.

ObjectivesThe aims of the project, classified into three main areas, are the following:
Cultural
To show all kinds of musical styles before an unusual audience.
To act as a platform for young musicians to act in emblematic venues that otherwise, they would not have access.
To bring the music to unusual venues and to take people on the journey to understand ar-chitecture. To rediscover the characteristic venues of each city and enjoy them in a dif-ferent way.
To promote the musical practice as a cultural complement.
Educational
To understand Music Schools as a real invest-ment in education, as a training and learning designed to develop a professional or amateur activity.
To introduce the various activities and projects developed by the Music Schools.
To provide an opportunity for all musicians-stu-dents, accepting the challenge of team work-ing during a few months to achieve a goal: to develop the repertoire and perform it in front of an unusual audience.
Social
To promote the participation and insertion of older people, disabled and social excluded, with their performances as musicians-students in different spaces.
To introduce the tasks and social activities car-ried out from the Music Schools.
To generally dignify the musical activities and the music field through the citizenship aware-ness.
To promote volunteering. To achieve some involvement and complicity from companies, institutions and private citizens to act as motors of cultural diffusion.
To promote citizens’ participation making this event a social, cultural and playful feast, that gives meaning to the project.
ValuesThe values of the project are:
Territoriality: Any city worldwide can host the festival.
Connectivity: It achieves the implication of the most influent cultural agents of the area.
Inclusive: It is aimed to all citizens. The age range of the musicians is between 4 and 80 years old. The event engages people and en-hances volunteering.
Community: The event is developed through a networking cultural management model.
Innovative: Unique and pioneering project.
Progressive: Valid project for any city that wants to organize it.
Media: This project has the involvement of the main medias.
During the event, the stu-dents of music will be true starts.
We introduce the Music Schools as an investment in education.
The citizens’ participa-tion and the volunteering strength give meaning to the project.
MissionScope:
International
Music and architecture are assets present in every city worldwide. The relationship be-tween them is the basis of this project.
This event will be extended around all the cit-ies interested in participating.
SecretsBCN, the festival’s founder and pro-moter organisation, gives you the tools to de-velop the project in your city.
The SIMFONIC CLUB is our international department aimed to expand the SIMFONIC Festival worldwide. We provide the know-how and the necessary experience to ensure the successful implementation of the project in the chosen city.
