Subj: SMP Monthly Meeting Minutes
1. A SMP meeting was held 01 April at Stepp Stables. HM1 Loaiza called
the meeting to order at 0900. List of those in attendance is provided on
the sign in sheet attachment 1, the meeting agenda can be found in
Attachment 2
2. SgtMaj Hackett –
Promoted recreation opportunities available on base, and addressed ongoing issues with Pulgas roads and 62 area chow hall.
3. HM1 Loaiza - opened the floor for old or new issues
Old Issues o Bldg. 52609- Barracks lacking hot water. Work is in progress but
is still an issue- no update on status.
o Water Pressure with 13 Area Barracks- Public work correcting
water valve issue, issue has been resolved.
o 43 Area parking lot lights timing is off due to power outages.
Issue is being worked on.
New Issues o 130117 (9th Comm barracks) ongoing pluming work in laundry
facilities is leaving no laundry facilities available for use
for the past three weeks.
5. Michael Rumbaua – Bachelor Housing –
Talked about BAH and how to apply for it. Occupancy currently reported at 70%.
Office will reopen Monday-Thursday at 50% staffing.
Promoted BEQ Manager training on 14 April.
6. Mr. Roberto Chavez and GySgt Kelley Business Manager, Services, MCCS,
FLHS Division –
Chappo Exchange: Grand Opening is scheduled for 15 May
BOINGO to update systems through the end of April in the Mainside
Area, then scheduled to update Del Mar Area in May.

Promoted the use of the stables for trail rides and volunteer
opportunities.
8. James Koch – Outdoor Adventures – Discussed the upcoming events. Free
events for active duty only. See Attached Flyers.

0920 Call for Elections- new council members needed, please email [email protected] if you are interested in
service on the council, new board will be instated at soon as they are identified. Interested candidates who may
EAS, PCS or deploy within the next 6 month are not eligible.
SMP President: Attends and presides over all SMP Council meetings. Works with SMP Coordinator to establish to
develop the meeting agenda, makes public appearances to promote the SMP and inform others about the program.
Solicits input from their parent command single Marines to enhance QOL; performs other duties and functions as
directed by the president or SMP Coordinator.
SMP Vice-President: Attends all SMP Council meetings and is prepared to assume the duties of the president in their
absence; serves as the chairperson of assigned SMP Volunteer Committees; solicits input from their parent command
single Marines to enhance QOL; performs other duties and functions as directed by the president or SMP Coordinator.
SMP Scribe Attends all SMP Council meetings; is prepared to assume the duties of the president or vice president in
their absence; records and maintains minutes of the SMP meetings and submits them to the SMP Coordinator within 3

Heartbreak Ridge Run: Sat, Apr 24: 7:30am – 12pm at Parade Deck, 43 Area – Camp Las Pulgas:
Join us for this iconic trail run held at the home of the 11th Marines on Camp Pendleton. The race
offers multiple distance choices including a half marathon, 10K, and 5K. Set your goal to summit and
conquer the famous Heartbreak Ridge Hill! Open to Camp Pendleton active duty and authorized base
patrons.
Online pre-registration is required. Absolutely no day-of registration accepted. Limited space available.
Registration closes Apr 22 at midnight. Registration fees range from $10-40.
