1.0 OBJECTIVE:

2.0 COVERAGE:

2.1 This policy will be applicable to all Staff members in SSB on NIIT Technologies Ltd rolls in

India.

2.2 This will be effective from April 1, 2006.

2.3 NIIT reserves the right to modify/extend/suspend this scheme at any time.

3.0 SCOPE:

3.1 All identified staff members who fulfil eligibility criteria of the policy. List of critical technical / functional areas are mentioned in Appendix- I of the policy. Any new identified area will be announced and added in Appendix-I after approval of HR-Head from time-to-time.

4.0 GENERAL GUIDELINES:

4.1 Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for nomination would be based on the following parameters:

4.1.1 The staff member should have completed at least one years of service with the Company

at the time of acquiring the certification.

4.1.2 The staff member should have atleast gone through one Performance Appraisal and

should have been awarded atleast one performance rating.

4.1.3 Performance rating should be >=’B’.

4.1.4 Business relevance as well as role relevance of the certification from current

role/career development perspective.

4.2 Nomination

4.2.1 Program Heads /Delivery Heads / Practice Heads & above may approve the

nominations.

4.2.2 Nomination of Certifications as per the approved list

4.2.3 Maximum two certifications per year would be allowed for a Staff Member.

4.3 Reimbursement

4.3.1 Delivery Heads / Practice Heads are authorised to approve the reimbursement of

certification fee upon successfully acquiring the certification.

5.0 BENEFITS:

5.1 Staff Member will be reimbursed Certification fee after (s) he clears the certification.

5.2 Reimbursement will be made only for the successful attempt for certification and not for all the

attempts in which (s) he was unsuccessful.

5.3 Service commitment period of one year will be applicable where the Certification Amount is

equal to or more than Rs.10,000/-.

6.0 GUIDELINES:

6.1 Cost of this certification would be borne by relevant BU / Practice and the same needs to be

budgeted by respective BUs or Practices accordingly.

6.2 There would be a minimum commitment period of stay in organisation for one year from the

date the staff member gets certification reimbursement in case the amount is equal to or more

than Rs.10,000.

6.3 All nominated staff members will be required to sign an undertaking at the time of

reimbursement of the certification fee and undertaking should be part of docket of

reimbursement.

6.4 List of areas covered under certification policy is enclosed as Appendix-I.

7.0 SERVICE SEVERANCE:

7.1 In the event of staff member resigning before the lapse of commitment period of 1 year as

mentioned above in clause 6.2, the reimbursed amount will be recovered from staff member.

7.2 The recovery of amount will be taken into account in Full & Final settlement or as deemed fit

by the organisation.

8.0 PROCEDURE:

8.1 Program Head / Delivery Head / Practice Head will approve nomination at first stage ensuring

compliance to eligibility criterion to enable staff member to take up the certification.

8.2 Staff Member will apply for reimbursement along with the receipt of certification fee payment,

certificate of award and undertaking.

8.3 Delivery Head / Practice Head will approve reimbursement and forward to HR.

8.4 HR will certify approval of certification reimbursement amount and send it to FSO.

8.5 FSO will make reimbursement and book this as an advance against the staff member which

will be offset after elapse of 1 year if the amount is equal to or more than to Rs.10,000.

8.6 The staff member will receive the amount through Reimbursement Account.

8.7 If the amount is less than Rs.10,000, the above mentioned process will be followed except for

the recovery clause.
