job or task. Job skills allow you to do a particular job and
life skills help you through everyday tasks.

People: interaction with others, ability to train and give advice to
Mechanical: working with tools and equipment
Communication: listening, speaking and working with others

Judgment: making clear decisions that make sense
Attention: focus on the (problem that is important now)
Thinking: working with new ideas and (showing the ability to
create interesting new things) thinking
Physical: strength, flexible athletic ability and skill
Senses: eyesight and hearing
Step 2 (Interests) Interests in this are activities that you like to do and enjoy doing in every day life!

Business: money flow/money-based studies, finance and marketing
Law: legal and criminal justice
Computers: programming and information technology
Science: math, physics and technology
Medical: (study of living things/qualities of living things) and health care

Outdoors: working outside of an office
Your working style is the way that you go about your day-
to-day tasks on the job. Everyone has his or her
own working style – or strategy – for optimally
performing while at work.
Attention to Detail: careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks
Integrity: (honest and good human quality/wholeness or completeness): being honest and (honest
and right)
Initiative: Effort to begin (doing something): taking on responsibilities and challenges
Dependability: reliable, responsible, and dependable
Persistence: Constant trying/not going away not giving up in the face of (blocking or stopping
things)
Cooperation: being pleasant with others and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude

Concern for Others: being sensitive to others' needs and feelings
Sociability: Friendliness: preferring to work with others rather than alone
Step 4: Values Your values are the things that you believe are important in the way you
live and work. They (should) determine your priorities, and, deep down,
they're probably the measures you use to tell if your life is turning out the
way you want it to.

Support: management that stands behind workers
Working Conditions: job security and good working conditions
Achievement: (action of accomplishing or completing something
challenging): results oriented and allows workers to use their strongest abilities, giving them a feel
ing of (something that was completed)
Independence: workers allowed to work on their own and make decisions
Recognition: (possibility of/possible happening of) (moving ahead or up) and a role in leadership
Relationships: workers provide service to others and work with co-workers in a friendly non-
competitive (surrounding conditions)
Step 5: Basic Last Questions on the test.Career Salary? - You can choose any salary you would like, but for this box, “Doesn’t matter” would lead you
to many opportunities. A career needs to be something you love not necessarily one that makes you a lot of
money!
Educational Requirements? Do you want to graduate from high school and get a job, do you want a little
more education after that (2 year college, technical school?), do you want a Bachelor’s degree (4 years in
college) or do you want a Master’s degree (6 years)
**If you are passionate about one of these, than choose it, but again “Doesn’t matter” gives you choices!
Market growth? This means do you hope that the jobs grow in this field in the future.
Doesn’t matter – means that you aren’t worried about more jobs opening up in the field, you want to be in that
career!
No change – The number of jobs in that field stay the same.
Average – Jobs grow a little bit each year
Faster – Jobs grow a lot each year. Lots of openings
