Kidney ToxicityOne of the main forms of treatment for skin problems such as rashes, dermatitis, itchiness, and acne isthe detox treatment. Indications for this treatment are found in the history. As always, test treatmentpoints against reflexes to see if they are indicated.

Indications:

Long­term use of medicationsChemotherapyHormonal treatmentsRecreational drugsHerbs that may be from a questionable sourceHistory of adverse reactions to medicationsHistory of food poisoningExposure to toxins or polluted or "sick" buildings (such as hospitals)Patients with kidney or liver disease (including Liver patterns)Tubal ligation or vasectomy

Diagnosis:

Diagnosis is based primarily on the effectiveness of treatment points on releasing reflexes and patienthistory. However, the thyroid reflex (St 9) will often be painful upon palpation if the detox treatment isindicated.

Treatment:Ki 9 ­ 90 or 45 into a painful point + 8 moxa stimulationsLI 15 – insert into a painful spot at the exact angle that releases reflex + 8­15 moxa stimulations (moxaon this point is essential for skin conditions)

"Salt moxa on the navel is also very beneficial for the detoxification of the Kidneys, especially if thepatient complains of skin problems. The patient should feel the heat through the salt at least threetimes." (Vol. 1, pp. 331)

Liver Deficiency

"The Liver deficiency pattern may be found in patients complaining of itchiness without a rash. Fatty Liver

Itchy skin and eczema can also be caused by a fatty Liver.

Signs and Symptoms:

History: overweight, gallbladder disease or removal, liver disease, alcohol, nutritional disorder,diabetes, sugar imbalance, ulcerative colitis, endocrine disease, allergiesSymptoms: Fatigue, no patience, no focus, irritable, anxiety, emotional, insomnia, headache,discomfort after eating oily foods, beer­colored urine, yellow­colored stol, spider veins, red palms(especially in JLu10 and Ht 8 areas), itchy skin, eczema, dizziness, sweaty, irregular menses,bruises easily, lack of sexual energy, heavy legs, SOB, pressure feeling in chest, irregular pulse.
