    INTRODUCTION

    to

    The STUDY of THEOLOGY

Christians believe that God desires to have fellowship

with the humans he has created. He wants us towalk closely with him. This means we need to knowhim personally and want to please him continuously.Theology is the study of that relationship betweenGod and his creatures, in every aspect of that

relationship. It seeks to understand who God is, whathe has revealed to us of himself, his purposes for hiscreation, and what he expects of us his creatures. Soby studying theology we should learn more clearlywhat to believe about God and ourselves, and theworld into which he has placed us. We should equally

learn how we should behave towards God, ourneighbours and our physical environment. Mostimportant of all we should deepen our experience ofGod as we seek to walk with him more closely eachday. Christian theology sees Christ as the goal of all

these studies, whether they take belief, behaviour orexperience as their starting point.

Christians believe that God desires to have fellowshipwith the humans he has created. He wants us to

walkclosely with him. This means we need toknow him personally and want to please himcontinuously. Theology is the study of thatrelationship between God and his creatures, inevery aspect of that relationship. It seeks to

we should behave towards God, our neighboursand our physical environment. Most important of allwe should deepen our

experience of God as weseek to walk with him more closely each day.Christian theology sees Christ as the goal of all
