Early Bird Session - Risk Management Updates The SMACNA Safety Committee will begin with an overview of SMACNA’s new OSHA 30 training modules, available free of charge to all SMACNA members and affiliates. The committee is excited to share their new Washington State Specific, Sheet Metal Industry Specific OSHA 30 Training. All attendees will receive the training modules free of charge. The session will continue with a presentation on red flags in worker’s compensation claims. Learn what the “red flags” are and how to spot them early so you can avoid costly, drawn-out claims.

Session I: New Technologies During this session, industry experts will give you an overview of new technologies and hot products that will soon lead our industry including 3d scanning from Trimble and MEP software updates.

Session II: New Energy Code Updates - John Heller, President of Ecotope John is a trusted authority on the New Washington State Energy Code Update. His presentation will focus on the new Dedicated Outdoor Air System requirements, commonly known as DOAS. John will explain the fine points of the requirements and explore how these systems improve indoor air quality, control relative humidity and reduce energy use.

Session III: Fire Life Safety - Eli P. Howard, III , Executive Director of Tech Svcs SMACNA Nat’l. Eli’s presentation will provide an overview of installing, inspecting and maintaining the various types of dampers in the HVAC systems within new and existing buildings. You will also review how to inspect, test and maintain smoke control systems.
